Mike - why stop there. You will have Ed, fixumm, and MeanGene together again, just like in Louisville. You need to get Alley Cat there, too!! Marty Ed - if you want to make the trip, Rebecca & the Archers (Gary/Kelly) will be coming through Cinti on the way. InPhil - what is your schedule going to be? Sinve Rebecca is driving again, she needs you to lead the way! I think they are planning on departing Louisville on August 8th and getting somewhere between Columbus and Wheeling that evening so tghey only have about a five hour drive on the ninth. Mike, thanks for the invite. At this point, I think it is doubtful but anything is possible. Sandy is going to Colo for a week with her twin sister and their mom to visit a friend, in two weeks. (The friend's husband was smart enough to plan a week long fishing trip the same week.) I do not know how much vacation time Sandy can take off the remainder of this summer and we already have some other things planned. I will ask her about it tonight. As it gets closer, I will probably want to come and join the frivolity. |

Quit your griping, AC. I don't get ANY vacation time. My friends are all school teachers and get the whole summer off. They look forward to June every year and to me it is just the same as the other 11 months, only warmer. Bummer. I just checked the roster and did not recognize any of the names. I actually forgot to ask Sandy about it. After looking at the schedule of what is going on up there, it is extremely tempting. I am up to a positive maybe, now. The bad part is that I was going to stay at Motel 6 (or wherever MeanGene is staying) and now I find out he will be there and I am afraid he will recognize me. Sandy is going to check at work and make sure she can take off that Friday. If she can take off work I think we will be attending. There is a big shake up at her job and some of the top spots are moving around but she should be able to find out Monday. Marty, I have a lot more interesting and pretty route to take to go to Lancaster (or anywhere in that area). Take I-275 east of Cincy and go out Route 32 until it meets US 50 into Parkersburg and then up to Morgantown and across 40 or else stay on 50 across W. by God Va. Beautiful route and shorter. Lots of fun in a Prowler. Turn north around Hagerstown. I highly recommend that route. This message has been edited by ed monahan on 06-30-2002 at 01:36 AM |

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm weeks' vacation already scheduled that week.... never been to northeast USA, though have thought about it several times........ maybe JUST the excuse I need to cover that part of the country! Mike... (Highiron).... LOVE your mini railroad... VERY nice layout! and a dinner train sounds nice... is that 'finalized' yet? Will now have to go 'back' and check out the previous posts for Lancaster and see 'what's up', ie, when, where, how, lodging, etc... Ed - thanks for the info on new route. I will mention it to Rebecca and Gary/Kelly Archer. If you and Sandy go I assume you will take that route? When would you be leaving and how long is drive time that way. Since I will not be with them on the way out, I may try to talk them into coming back that way. Geno - Just make your reservations and head East. If you hit the Atlantic Ocean, you went to far! |

Marty, if we go, that is the route, for sure. Going to Columbus and then getting on the PA turnpike is a no-no. I think it is about 9 hours to Baltimore, so I would say it is about the same. I do not know yet, what day or time we will be leaving. |

Ed and Marty I have just spent some time running routes using my GPS mapping sysdtem here is what I came up with... Ed's route is 550 miles, 11hrs 16 min drive time the other route is how I came to your event marty, and I will say there is a lot of road desruction on western part of PA pike, could be alot of crap on road from paving. this system I use is very accurate, and both milages are based out of cincy let me know if I can be more help ------------------ This message has been edited by Mike Venezia on 07-01-2002 at 06:24 AM |
