..what a difference in the ride. The improvement is more than adding the suspension braces. Granted, my old tires had 37,750 miles on them, but they still had at least 10,000 miles left on them. I put the Dunlops on after returning from Colorado pulling the trailer. With the wheel spacers on the Goodyears rubbed the rear fenders too much. Softer sidewalls, lighter weight, better treadlife. The only downside I see is they are not runflats, but I figure a can Fix-A-Flat and the plug kit I already carry for trailer will take care of any flat tire I may get. Plus the look COOL. Thanks to cnote for the great price on the set!! Marty ------------------ Driving my Dream This message has been edited by Marty Usher on 06-18-2002 at 09:34 PM |

Marty, how do the front tires look. I saw a set on a Kat and the front tires seemed to be a bit narrower and did not fill in the fender well as well as the GY ------------------ *99 Yellow *Borla Exhaust *Mud Flaps *Mac Cold Air *Yellow Windshield Banner "Prowler" *MGW Prowler Hitch Cover *Logo Valve Stem Caps *Chrome Wheels Done Aftermarket *No Front Bumpers w/Tom Mills Bumper Covers *Removed Visors *Real Rod Tranny Cover *Chrome License Plate Frame *Ceramic Brake Pads *Air Patrol *Painted Black Gloss Rear Bumpers *Shimmers Bumper Yellow & Clear Tail Lights *Flames * Moved Front Turning Lights to Rear Bump. *Multiple Coats ZAINO *Total Speaker Upgrade *New 4 Channel Amplifier *Handmade Front Suspension Brace * $8.99 Chrome Grille /Fell Off ! *Chrome Shift Knob & Bezel |

Marty, welcome to the world of softer ride... I had mine on for Colorado and the difference was noticed on the trip... The look as you stated is cool. I have the spacers also... ------------------ |

Darcy - I will either take a photo or find one of PaulR, cnote, GaryC, or Fred Henkels cars from the front angle. I am just excited that the back tires don't rub and I lovew the agressive look of the wheel spacers on the rear that I did not want to take them off. The extra tire wear and lighter weight, plus cheaper price just closed the deal for me. The ride is really softer, too. The ride difference is amazing, it makes the car faster too.(3/10s off your 0-60 times.) Marty, you just took off 32 of rubber off your car. Fred with the spacers will even give you a better ride and the tires will not rub. Congrats to you being the newest member of the SP9000 Club. ------------------ |

I hope to be getting my new non-runflat tires on soon. I can not wait to see how much of a difference in the ride they are going to make. ------------------ MTD Prowler Intake System 2.2 |

I was told at a Conner Plant Q&A session Fix A Flat will ruin the sensors. ------------------ |

I believe Rich is right... Fix A Flat (no relation to Fixmmm-Flat)will literally gum up the works and stop the pressure transducer in the sensor from working. ------------------ |

Thanks guys for the heads up on the Fix a Flat and sensors. I carry the stuff for the trailer tires (non run flat) Maybe I just need to get something to inflate the tires after I plug 'em! Marty ------------------ Driving my Dream |

quote: what do you mean i was the inventor for this just think about the name for a second. people always let the air out of my tires for some reason (i don't know why) so i came up with a quick fix. i original made this stuff for people in prison (for their safty ) but since it was an aerosol they could not buy it. the original name was hole plug. ------------------ |

I've already used a can of Fix-A-Flat in my left front wheel to seal up a very slow leak which seems to be in the wheel itself and not the tire. The sensor seems to still work as it let me know I was 4 lbs low in that wheel a couple of weeks ago. Personally I have never owned a car or truck that had those sensors in them and I have lived witout them... If it plugs the sensor up, GREAT!! Stop that damn light and dinger from going off. Before taking the kat out I have always walked around her just to check things before driving anyway... Next set of tires the sensors are coming out.. ------------------ |

Fix a flat will not hurt the sensors if you take care of the flat ASAP. Don't run around for a few days then fix it. In the last 5 years I have not had a problem. From the 9000 club. ------------------ Real Rod Exhaust << Very cool & Mopar Exhaust |

Cnote - thanks for info on fix a flat. Hopefully I won't ever have to use it. Do you have photo you can post of the front Dunlops. Darcy wanted to see if they fill the fenders as well as the original GY. It seems the photos in personal scrapbooks are not working right now. Thanks Marty ------------------ Driving my Dream |
