I'm close to finalizing a deal on a 2002 Kat. It will be driven only in the summer, stay out of the rain and will be pampered daily (but not driven daily). Should I purchase an extended warranty? I'm looking at the DC "all-inclusive" plan for 7 years/60,000 miles. My local dealer wants $1,035 for the $100 deductible plan. Advice? Any other dealers I should ask about pricing? Thanks tons, Kevin ------------------ |

I buy them on all my cars. I have found it to be extremely valuable.......but........ I did not purchase it on the Prowler. You have 3 year bumper to bumper on the car. And seven year drive train. I figured I would put no more than 6,000 miles per year on my car......max. So I opted to not go with it. Hope I am not sorry..... John |

Kevin. Contact David Caroon at causeway Chrysler. They sell whichever Chrysler mfg warranty you select for $100 over cost. There's quite a markup on the extended warranties... The number is 800-259-5337 or 985-892-9165. They've been offering this deal to Prowler owners for almost three years. David is the Bus. Mgr. replaced Bob Cooper. David also is a fellow Prowler owner (Blue Mulholland). Also, your 2002 may have come with the 7 yr 100,000 powertrain warranty. The extended coverage is available for a slightly lower fee for cars covered by that promotional offering... ------------------ |

Laddie: Spoke to David yesterday. We'll close the deal as soon as I take delivery...hopefully early next week. He spoke very highly of you, and I agree. Thanks for pointing me in his direction, you saved me quite a bit of money. Unlike with AC, I will be sending you my thanks, not a surcharge fee! Kevin ------------------ |

Well, now I know that the deal I got on the car (good) was offset by the deal I got on the warranty (not good). Oh well, such is the way it goes. At least I actually have both... ------------------ |

Only good thing I see about the extended warranty is car rental coverage..... I can't believe Chrysler won't pay for a rent car while the prowler is in the shop..... |
