That's right, I just got a ticket a couple of hours ago. I had just pulled out of my subdivision with my friend in the Kat and was showing him how the autostick works. I was holding it in 1st and started to accelerate slowly, then I shifted to 2nd and started to slow down. The cop was sitting on the side of the road and after I passed he didn't pull out. After about a half a mile down the road I looked in my rearview mirror and he was right behind me with his lights on. I realize I was going over the speed limit of 30mph, but I seriously doubt I was going 48 like he said. Anyway he takes my license and I had to explain I didn't have a registration card yet because I just picked up the car 2 weeks ago and haven't received it in the mail yet. He didn't even know what kind of car it was and had to ask, he thought it was old so I had to assure him it was a 2002. After about 5 minutes he walks back and says, "this is what I am going to do for you, I am going to knock it down to a 45 in a 30 so you don't have to go to court." Wow... thanks for nothing.
Anyway, he reminded me of the kid in school who always got picked on and beat up. Do I sound bitter? Sorry for rambling, just had to get it all out. I think I want to get this fixed, its my first speeding ticket and I would prefer to keep the points off my license. How much is this going to cost me all together? Ticket, lawyer, and whatever else?

you should be able to go to traffic school. Laywers on a traffic ticket are a waist of $. You can fight it and still ask for traffic school if you loose.

Not to worry...it is just part of the fun in having
a Kat....first ticket disappears with traffic school.
You may have a little trouble with that 100+mph
ticket down the road.

Well 2002SP, I think you should sell me that Kat and I will pay your speeding ticket for you. Here in Indiana, I got pulled over for doing 68 in a 55 and he know what year and everything my 2001 was, Then he checked out my Marine sticker on windshield said Semper FI and told me to watch my speed and have a safe weekend. Boy was I sweating it for awhile. Enjoy.

Traffic school. No points afterward. Insurance never knows about ticket if you go. I HIGHLY recommend you take Todd's advice.

Not bad.....

I scored myself a ticket from DPS the other day for 93 in a 60....

They were really cool though, BS'd about the car for a while, even though they couldn't see $50k in a car like that....

Oh well..
