I just looked at ads for used Prowlers on the EBay site. Of the top 13 used Prowlers, in descending order, NOT ONE of the 13 sold! None of the 13 "met the reserve". When I looked at this site about 30 days ago, the situation, with few exceptions, was exactly the same. I think it's safe to assume that the reserves are running in the mid-30's range. Most bids fall off at around $32,000 deals and are never completed successfully. Looks like there's a big disconnect between buyer and seller expectations for used Kats' values. ------------------ This message has been edited by Paul on 05-31-2002 at 08:20 AM |

Large dealer told me recently they had turned down the opportunity to purchase 2 different 99 Kats for $24K...both were low mile cars and purple...the market is soft....just DRIVE 'EM.... ------------------ |

For 24K I would own another for sure...... No doubt. If anyone knows of a low mileage purple for 24K send them my way..... I may be old fashioned, but I will not buy a 35K car over the net without seeing it and driving it. John |

Expect to hear about Kat's being sold for 15-20 within 2 years. Used cars = lower prices, especially when it's not made anymore. ------------------ |

Wholesalers don't even want them. If you trade them in, the dealers just scratch there heads and don't know where to get some wholesaler to take it....It seems that for less money people want the T-Birds....Y ------------------ |

less money... now that's funny! Kinda ties into my story of how we got our Prowler... went to the autoshow in Milwaukee, had been waiting months to view the famous Chevrolet convertible truck... saw it... in a nutshell, very disappointed As we walked around checking out the other cars, liked the T-Bird....... A LOT ........... and when talking with the salesman, ended up visiting his lot.... here was the 'response' we got.... cant start it, cant drive it, dealer markup boldly printed on side window brought price to $55,000! Told the wife, (expletive deleted)... for that kinda dough, let's get the Prowler! Next thing ya know and let me assure you...... NO regrets Lovin' every minute of it ! ------------------ |
