I let my parents drive my Kat home the other night from dinner... I followed them in their Bimmer. I forgot how cool the Prowlers look on the road! WOW...! But I noticed I could see the halfshafts/axles under the car from behind. The more I looked under it, the more it looked like something was missing. Ever notice that? When I got my Kat I said I was going to leave it alone... but I think I need the rear lower cover.... then maybe a hardtop while Im at it..... do I hear gears anyone....LOL ------------------ |

Frank, You are right... when I see my Prowler driving away from me.... I think to myself "Damn that is a sweet ride" Once you start doing mods ... there is no stopping it. On most prowlers you can see the rust / Corrosion on the half shafts from behind... other than that it looks sweet. ------------------ |

As for rust on the 1/2 shafts, When I was showing my car on ISCA curcuit I was thinking HOW CAN I GET RID OF THE RUST, (6 month old car) well have any of you ever had a shower curtain that didn't look so good and covered it with plastic wraparound sleeve. I put a black shower curtain rod cover over them and they look like they are painted. I thought I would need to remove them when driving but 13,000 miles & a few miles in Deadwood, SD trip last year at excess of 100 mph they are still there. I think I will leave them LOL I think most owners must like the rear view from the pictures I received for the calender ------------------ |

Ed, one 5' piece will do it, but hope you like cream since most motels use it....LOL I think Sue gets the credit for this mod ------------------ |

I'll tell you what Ed, since your such a nice guy you can have half of the black rod cover I bought. Don't want you to get in trouble with the local authorities over shower rods missing etc. By the way, the party for Sandy was terrific. ------------------ |

Since I'm the one always driving my cat, I never get to see what it looked like driving down the road. On the way home from the Indy event last year, we drove for a short time with John Schulz (who has a black cat like mine). When he turned off a different direction then we were going and I saw him flying up the exit ramp, I remarked to Bob how cool the car looked in motion........especially the wheels. They looked awesome!! |

C5 Frank What you saw was the halfshaft. Look again. Are you sure that wasn't the Prowler's way of Mooning you since you were behind it and not driving it??? lol ------------------ |

Watching a Kat in action is almost (but not quite) as much fun as driving one. In the Lead-Deadwood parade (54 Kats last 4th of July) it was a true orgy of Katexcitement. You never know how intense it will get. Donna and I saw the moment when a pristine Prowler came within one inch of putting a nasty crease in JD's Silver Bullet. {Awesome burnouts, JD!) The agony of one getting bit beats the ecstacy of owning and driving one. Go for it! ------------------ |
