I'm sorry the title looks so serious. I just wanted to make sure this doesnt happen to anyone else. I was washing the Kat today and did something kinda stupid. As I got to the back of the car.... I took the sponge to do the bottom side of the bumper and as I wiped it I SLICED my finger on the tail pipe!!!! I was very very deep! I cleaned and wrapped it the best I could.....It bled threw.... My girlfriend is a Vet-tech so she has lots of goodies at home to stop bleeding. So we got it under control. I took it off to clean it some more 3 hours later and it was still bleeding some! So be very careful around those pipes! I don't know how I did it, but I did. I'm sure at least one of you has done it before too..... Hopefully we'll all think about it now. ------------------ This message has been edited by C5 Frank on 05-15-2002 at 11:07 PM |

Frank - brings a new meaning to donating blood. Its like putting the cat nose on a curb,,,,,,,you usually only do it once. Be careful out there. |

Two other items of notice: 1) Be careful when cleaning the rear wheels on the car. The backs of my hands bear the scars from this misfortune. 2) When working underneath the car, be careful to avoid the metal straps that hold the rocker panels and body parts onto the car. Those things are like razor blades. ------------------ MTD Prowler Intake System 2.2 |

I just changed my nose out for a new one and have all kinds of cuts and scratches that occurred when I was feeling around and got my hands across burs left on the weld points. They are sharp points left when the welding rod is pulled away. Of course I didn't learn after the first time I did it (I'm Irish, where known to be a little thick at times) and did it over and over. I guess I can also now add blood to the sweat and tears I have given to the Kat. Voodoo |

The tail pipe edges are sharp like a razor and can cut into the skin on your hand very deep. I got a few nic's on my hands from the cat in the past 2.5 yrs. ------------------ |

Bill - you bring up an excellent point about the wheels - if I don't wear leather gloves when cleaning them, I have cuts and scrapes all over them. ------------------ |

Sliced finger on exhaust tip and scraped 4 knuckes removing front bumper, not counting the back pain messing with it in other ways. Kats have Klaws, but all the fun makes it worth it. The real trick is to pay attention, and for some of us who have to be old enough to afford the Kat, that can be difficult. ------------------ |
