My 2 years was up and had to get the Woodward inspected. Didn't like the thought of someone else driving the Prowler, but had to get it done. They loved the car and the DMV Dude asked me if I had the front License plate.( I have none mounted on Front)

I forgot it home and he said bring it next time, They still failed me for not having it, I went home and put it in the front window went back and they passed me.

Just thought I'd remind everyone in NJ to bring the plate and put it in the window. Later all

I'm due the end of this year and debating whether to take it
to a private inspection that has the roller test for emissions.

How many miles are on the car? Did DMV omit the emission test or tell you that next time you won't have to do emission if less than 10k miles?

My two year exemption also just expired. Took it to the test station and the attendant said my wheels were to wide so he wouldn't dyno it. They just stuck the sniffers in the pipes while at idle. They didn't seem to care I didn't have a front plate. The attendant had to walk to the back of the car to get the license number.

Here in Missouri we also have a drive-by program. There are several vans with test equipment parked along highway entrance ramps which sniff the exhaust as you pass by. Their locations are published in advance on the Internet. All you have to do is drive past these vans more than two times about 90 days before your license is due. If the car passes you will still owe the fee, but you don't have to go to the emissisions station for the dyno. My cat was in winter storage so I couldn't do the drive-by.

Why go thru the hassle of going to DMV. Pay the fee at your local gas station and if you have a relationship with them they won't even notice you only have one plate!!

Arizona has a five year exemption program. The first time through they just plug into the computer first, and if no problems show, they pass you.

Seen a guy with a Lambo go through,,,,he told them that nobody there was driving the car on the rollers or touching the $300,000 car and damaging it, or they would be held responsible for any damage. They passed him through!

I'm also woeking just part time now, My Mechanic wanted 65.00 to inspect her, so I figured I'd save the Dough !

Since I could only find a silver out of state, I had to take her in immediately to get the inspection... Was very nervous... especially when everyone was fighting over who was going to run her through... The head inspector Builds and collects HotRods and insisted on taking her through... He treated her with kid gloves and with plenty of respect... It was really funny when another inspector got into the passenger seat for the roller test... I guess everyone wants a ride in the Kat, even if they weren't going anywhere
I had my front tag on the dash and he had no problem with it... I am also going to check into getting a Collector's Car registration and insurance This way I can do what I want... Only major down side is that I can only drive her 3,000 miles a year... Don't know if I can keep it that low...
