With all the participants in Colorado next month does anyone plan to do an exhaust sound off? One idea is to have a panel judge this year’s best sounding exhaust. Judge idle, WOT, Cruising speed, etc, etc… Or just collect the most popular vote. Maybe some one could post sound bites on this site. Just some thoughts… I wish I could attend Colorado this year to hear for my self. Since I cannot I would like to hear other comments about the different combinations of exhaust systems they heard. Thanks !! |

Chromer and I have the best hearing available,,,,we will offer to judge the exhaust sounds fair and square. Jack will announce the winner! Ed's hearing aid wouldn't be able to handle this contest. Winner gets the prestige title of having a ALLEY CAT STAMP OF APPROVAL added to their respective product. Individual winner gets a free Alpo dinner with Jack W/D ------------------ |

This "Sound Off" challenge. is a GREAT IDEA!!! Fill me in on the details... the rules.... etc. Even though the SSS Prowler muffler has received unanimous rave reviews from every Prowler owner that has installed it, I welcome this "Sound Off" challenge to firmly establish that the Sweet, Smooth & SASSY sound of the SSS Prowler muffler is a unique, Prowler ONLY sound and is the preferred "Sound" of discriminating Prowler Owners. To accept this challenge and to insure proper representation, I need some more SSS equipped Cats that are planning to attend the Colorado event... please step forward and be counted... or order yours today and join the competition!!! Best wishes to all the "Sound Off" participants and may the Best Prowler Sound win. Sincerely, Jay PS... after the "Sound Off" is judged, give me a call @ 800 669 3540 for your SSS Prowler muffler. ------------------ |

Maybe I will have to disconnect the SSS and let you hear straight pipes with no cats coming out of Paxton headers!! You can hear it from a mile away - literally. For everyday driving the SSS rumble is very good! ------------------ Driving my Dream |

I wish my exhaust was going to be ready for this event. I just finished the final design and prototype this past weekend. I still have some items to complete for mass production. I hope to have everything finalized with some performance numbers by June. ------------------ • MTD Prowler Intake System 2.2 |

I just heard Jay's SSS exhaust for most of the day on Saturday during our Sanibel Cruise. It is truly the deepest sounding exhaust at idle I've ever heard. At speed, I would describe it as mellow. I would recommend it to anybody who wants a much much healthier sound to their Prowler. I have use three different systems and currently have a modified Borla - it works very well with the Supercharger, but is not quite as deep (especially at idle) as the SSS. Forget the contest, if you're stock, just get this and bolt it on in 20 minutes and completely change your Kat for the better! JMHO |

For those attending the Colorado Event and participating in the "Best Sounding Exhaust" Sound-off Competition, please reply... How many SSS Prowler muffler equipped Cats are Stock? What I am looking for is the correlation with the horsepower output and sound... if any. The SSS Prowler muffler was designed to be an OEM muffler replacement... an easy "do-it-yourself" Prowler Owner project providing a unique Prowler Only sound. We achieved that... in fact we exceeded our expectations in that a modest performance gain was realized along with the unique Prowler Only sound. Now, I am interested whether or not these same sound and performance gains are any different on the "modified" Cats. Please keep us posted and I hope to have at least one SSS Prowler muffler equipped Cat in every "category" for the Colorado Event. Have you ordered your SSS Prowler muffler yet? If not, call 800 669 3540 now!!! THANKS, Jay ------------------ |

I consider myself a discriminating Prowler Owner but I already had the Mopar Borlas installed on my cats before you came out with your system. I can't afford to purchase another exhaust system to replace mine and I'm sure there are others in the same "boat" I am, even if we do like yours. I know that you develop terrific products and need to "advertise" them to sell them, and you know that I truly wish you the best in your endeavors and I'm sure you will be successful, but please don't make the rest of us who can't afford to change for the first time or change them again feel like what we have is "inferior" to anything else. As always, sound and performance (like anything else) is a personal preference. Thanks! |

OK I am up to the challenge. The Ghostrider will be there with it's custom exhaust system. This should be fun. Who has the DB meter? ------------------ |

CJ, I have a stock system and do not feel inferior to others. I choose to wait until I can hear a sound which suits me to make a change. These posts seem to be in fun and not meant to make anyone feel inferior. Reading between the lines my question would be are you really satisfied with what you have ? |

Yep!!! I just felt bad that because I already had the others, I couldn't afford to change again in order to support one of our Prowler owners' products....which are always great by the way!! I've always liked the sound of the Mopar Borlas, and again, exhaust sound, like anything else is a matter of preference. I know many people like them really loud, but personally, I don't. I like to be able to hear my passenger speak, the cd player and myself talk! After a while, really loud ones give me a headache!! Cliff gave me a ride in his cat when we were out in CA, but I was hangin' on for dear life hoping we'd miss all those cars and the trees, that I had a hard time concentrating on what Jay's exhausts sounded like!! |

CJ, I promise not to go fast --- and if you want --- you can talk, I put in a CD , and you can listen for the SSS sound. How's that? ------------------ |
