Getting ready to wash the Kat for the first time. I usually use soap and water with a cloth but noticed on my truck from over the last couple years of doing it this way that there are circular shape type scratches on the body. You can barely notice them but I know they're there. Looking for pointers and suggestions from your experiences on type of liquid cleaner and cleaning utensils. I have always hand washed all of my vehicles. Thank you. |

Zaino wash and a natural sponge unless I'm stripping wax and then I use dish detergent. I blow dry with a leaf blower or sometimes use a water blade. BTW, WELCOME ------------------ |

We use Maguiar's Gold Car Wash and a freshly washed terry mitt and old soft cotton towels to dry. They're best just before you have to throw them out! |

Turtle wax car wash here and some "rags" you can get at pepboys that are highly absorbent. Wipe them off with them too and polish them too. ------------------ |

Was recommended to me by one of the Finesse Line detailers in Bowling Green to use Ivory dish soap in cool water with a clean/soft terry rag. Other dish soaps have too much grease release agent in them and the Brand alternatives are quite similiar, but cost way more. I dry with an Absorber rag ... it's a synthetic chamois that you can get at swap meets or certain auto store. Used to use terry towels to dry, but these are much better, don't scratch, dry like a blade and has its own storage tube ... oh, did I forget to mention, I use Perrier water with that Ivory soap .... |

A natural sponge and water only. But I make sure the sponge has lots of water in it for each wipe. But my cars never get to dirty. I wash them twice a week.... ------------------ |

I use Maguiar's wash and the water blade finish off with soft cotton or flanelett cloths, if I'm really in a hurry I use my air nozzel to blow off a lot of the excess water don't have a leaf blower. PK |

WARNING? 2 of the posts mentioned NATURAL SPONGE. I read somewhere to NEVER USE NATURAL SPONGE. Seems to make sense - as the sponges are growing underwater, sand gets into them. If you use them, you're going to get scratches from the sand. Can anyone confirm or or dispute this? Suggest an ALL-COTTON applicator just to be safe. If you go with Zaino, you get one free with order. |
