Was getting my warranty papers together today and found my original order sheet for my Prowler, got me thinking how long others had waited for their's.

Here's the question for those like myself that ordered our Kats "What date did you actually order it and when did it finally arrive?

I ordered mine on Feb 16/96 got it on May 5/99. Boy do I remember going through all the different feelings of how it would look in the other colours as they started to come out, and then the feeling I got when I got the call it was (Red) and finally coming after waiting those 3 plus yrs. Words cannot describe the emotions I felt after I hung up the phone.

I made my deal in July of 1994 and picked the car up July 16, 1998 at 2:30 in the afternoon.

Wow - you all that bought early....I can't imagine the emotions of waiting (much less the $$$). I bid on mine on ebay just to tell friends that I bid on "that car I have been talking about for four years" in April last year. Eight days later, my son called me when I was out of town to tell me the auction closed in 3 minutes and I was the high bidder. One year ago tomorrow, I drove 3 1/2 hours to pick it up!!!

When I got in to drive it home, it was the first time I had ever seen the interior of one.

Took three of my kids to see the first one in Dayton.... Still have the pictures. The car was behind ropes. Couldn't touch it. Current bid price was $80,000. I knew my dream was dead with five kids in private schools.....

Then two months ago I saw an ORANGE KATT and knew it was all over...... Missed two of them and finally found mine 300 miles away. Took a day off work, drove to see the car, called the wife and said "guess what I am looking at, and, oh by the way, can I buy it ?" And she said yes..... Man I love her.

On the way home, I called her on the cell. Top down, Clapton on, - told her if I hit the back of a Semi tonight, it was worth it. And I really met it.

John

PS. My 16 year old was waiting for me when I arrived home. I took her for a ride. Stopped in the Town and Country parking lot at 1:00 AM in the morning. Got out. My daughter says; "What are you doing ?" I said; "You want to drive it don't you ? " Her smile was worth a Million $$$$$$ She drove it home.....

I had planned the purchase of my Kat to coincide with my first retirement check. I told the sales rep year in advance when I would be ready to buy. When he realized how serious I was, he said to give him 45 days notice when I was ready. We kept in touch during the next 10.5 months. On April 13th I called to say I would be ready June 1st. He said OK. Two hours later he calls back and says I have your car. I told him I had to wait until june 1st. He said no problem we could work it out and I could get the car now. The Car was trucked up from Alabama and I had it two days later. Just waiting that two days after I signed the papers was murder. Now I am drawing retirement and still working a full time job too. I have to support the Kat and all the accessories.

I bet before the first year was up I would call 2 or 3 times a mth or more asking what they heard ? when are they gonna get me a car? boy it was driving me crazy because being one of the biggest car nuts I couldn't think of anything else. I've got the first street Rodder mag they showed the Prowler in and I told my wife to be at the time I was buying one of these if they come to production.

I have built and owned some pretty unreal cars in my life but nothing and by this I mean no other experience with other cars could even come close to the feeling I get or have gotten owning and driving my Kat. the wait was worth it by far.

Made the deal over the phone on a Monday, picked it up that Friday. But, I first saw the Kat as a prototype at a car show in '93. Decided then, if they build it, I WILL own one.

John B,
Enjoyed your story.
