The copy of the "letter" that I posted was a preliminary copy that was Emailed to me from a person at Christie's, NOT from Chrysler. If you would have noticed, the letterhead and other area's were still in the generic stages. Without anyones permission, I posted this "preliminary copy" so that everyone could see the contact information. My intent was to give everyone a heads-up, so that those that might be interested could have more time to make arrangements for attending the auction, or at least get their names on a list. Maybe, the next time I get some information that may help someone a little, I shouldn't post it. Then I wouldn't have to read the complaints of "why haven't I got my letter from the big corporate company yet." Do some of you actually think that DC will have up-to-date info on "every" Prowler owner? I have had my car for 4 years, and in that time I've had a minimum of 4 change of addresses. I seriously doubt that DC will be able to contact EVERYONE, but I'm sure they are doing what they can, with their database input, to contact as many people as they can. The decision was announced just this week about the charity auction. It can take as much as 5 days for a letter to go across this country. Maybe the letters are in the mail now. Are we then going to complain about how long it took for them to get to us too. Pardon my venting, but whine about something worthy! PS - Ed, are you sure your SSN Card wasn't engraved on a stone tablet, not wood? ------------------ |

With regard to the letter. At the farewell party for the last Prowler yesterday, I was informed that the mailing started yesterday and that ALL Prowler owners, Canadiens included, will be getting a letter. For those of you who are second owners of a car, there will be a way for you to make the contact necessary if you want to bid. I will follow up with that on the 30th when the formal announcement is made. Many people indicate that they do not wish to receive solicitations from the manufacturer and due to the current privacy rules, DC did not send a letter to anyone who indicated that. I hope to have all my pictures done and additional information posted by tomorrow. There's lots!!! This message has been edited by CJ on 04-27-2002 at 10:07 AM |
