Can someone shed some light on this for me ? Just picked up my new prowler - on the rear Convertible top, when pushing the prongs down into the rear deck lid, I have one side that has an orange "grommet" and one side that does not. The side that does not is putting an indentation into the receiving end of the hold down mechinism (Black Oval piece with the hole in the deck lid) Looks like a bolt that holds the prong on is the culprit of the damage. Does this ring a bell with anyone ? Do you know where I can get another "grommet" to stop these indentations ? Thanks ! John |

John, what "orange grommet", I just went out to the my shop and took a look at my 02 Kat. There's no orange grommet on either side of the top, any picture of this grommet? Al |

I'll have to take a picture this evening....... it is an orange grommet that fits over the post. Only one side has it and it doesn't look like it is secured very well. Thanks for looking, I'll snap a picture and post. John |

Without seeing what it looks like I'm kind of lost here, it almost sounds like the grommet doesn't be long on the post. If the marks you're talking about are inside the black plastic that sounds normal, I wonder if while at the plant it's used when adjusting the top. Did you buy the car new or was there a previous owner, if it was owned by someone else first maybe they installed the grommet? |
