Thought I'd be in the prowler family by now... Finally found a 2002 Candy Apple at a dealer 2 1/2 hours away. They "Snethkamp Chrysler Jeep in Redmond, MI" said they could get me one. We committed to a price. They faxed me a Vehicle Purchase Order with all the extra costs and we sent in the $1000 required. They cashed the check. I was pumped up, excited, planning the big day off work to go get it.... Now they say that they cannot find any dealers to give up their prowlers for the price we agreed upon. To me, that is unacceptable. They said they would reimburse me in 10 days. I did ask around about this company and they have a good rep but this doesn't appear to be good business. What do you think? What would you do, if anything? Thanks, Dawn |

Thanks Big John and John for your responses. The MI deal would have been prevented me from traveling a long distance. A few weeks ago there was one in Green Bay but passed that one up when this MI dealer had one. I will call WI & OH on Monday to see what is still available. Thanks guys for your input. |

Dawn, dealers are open on Sat and a lot of them are even open on Sunday. It might be wise to call Sat. if you really want to get one. There were only 300 made and most of them are not going to be too close to you and still available. I would call sooner rather than later. I do not understand why the dealer is holding your $ 1000 for 10 days. I would DEMAND immediate payment. ------------------ |

Ed is correct - call Randy tomorrow. It will go quickly. Candy Red is beautiful. The trip to Marysville is not that far. I just picked up my Prowler Tuesday. You HAVE to get one. Too much fun. John |

DawnGeers A friend that owns a DC dealership not to far from you has a brand new in his back room. One main thing. He is very fair priced, best service in the country with one of the countries leading Prowler mechanics on staff. Let me know. I will personally introduce you This message has been edited by SasyMama on 04-20-2002 at 09:56 AM |

Sit tight... we will find you some deals. You're not too late yet. There are still many candy reds available. A POA member will gladly check out the vehicle for you if it's too far away for you. Also, it only costs $500 or so to get a car shipped (depending on how far away it is)... By the way... the cars are few in numbers. I'm not surprised that a dealer cannot get one from another dealer. These cars are rare, and most dealers want to broker their own deal. I'm sure they tried, but their's not much they can do if they get no takers. ------------------ This message has been edited by VirginiaCatDude on 04-20-2002 at 10:17 AM |

Sassy, YES, YES, I'd be very interested if he has a 2002 Candy Red one! Let me know, my email is applerun@msn.com Thanks! Thanks to everyone for your encouraging words. I just got home from work so will make the calls to OH and WI. I should find one for a reasonable price especially since I'm going to pay cash, and I'm ready to buy right now...just not having much fun in the process! The weather is beautiful and there is a space in the garage calling out |

Since the DC stop making them, the old saying is I want what I cant get! I am hearding that alot. Good Luck... By the way I got mine from a dealer in Ohio and I live in California, I got a couple K off MSRP, Im very HAPPY... |

I got mine in Ohio (3 hours from me). They told me they had tons of phone calls from other dealers on it, but they wouldn't let it go. A dealer in Louisville had/has one but I was told the owner wanted to keep it so he had it priced at a no haggle $55K... I told them he would keep it... Good luck. Candy Red is awesome! THANKS SASSY for hooking us up with your lead. Looks like we'll be a new owner of a Candy Red this week...depending on the weather as forecast calls for snow/rain first of the week. We had found one in WI but Sassy found one for us only 3 hours away! I'll keep the board posted! Thanks to all! DawnGeers |

Haven't seen front & back mud flaps on a prowler...can someone email me a photo to applerun@msn.com Sassy, it would be great to meet you. Lyn is picking us up at the airport unless you want to send your buddy Roger P over ! I have a feeling that this Candy Red is going to end up being Rog's car! He has his mind on getting a 63 split window vet until driving a prowler I rented in Hawaii for his b-day in Feb. (He's still hanging onto his 70 SS Elcamino). This prowler was to replace my 95 z28 Convertible so looks like I'm going to be on the wait list for the 50th Anniversary Z06, it's that or my true love a new vipor! Hey, who knows, maybe we'll end up getting matching prowlers! This board has been so helpful and has build so much excitement to getting our cat. Thanks to all! |

63 Split Window was about 10,000+ made. Prowler was about 11,000+ made. I'll it's a tough decision for Rog. It will be awesome if he has them both. It's a fantastic feelings to drive them both and believe me, I know... ------------------ This message has been edited by Howler Cat on 04-21-2002 at 09:18 AM |

Hi Mud flap blend in very good. They did a super job designing them. They look like they belong on the car from scratch. I will see if I have any pics. They will keep the sides from getting ate up..trust me. Sassy. PS While you are picking it up to, call Zole across the street from where you will be and get a deck lid protector installed. It take a few minutes and is well worth it. Sassy |
