Hey Y'all,

I was wondering who would be interested in doing a large central gathering like in Atlantic City and get all the Prowler Owners together from NJ, NY, CT, MA, RI, PA, MD, NH, VT, ME, DE and more for ONE big gathering. Maybe we could get enough owners together to and beat TX & CA gatherings? Thoughts & Ideas?

You have to consider that us east coast folk are always very busy...sometimes too busy to do these fun things. Not like those laid back southerners who like to take it easy all the time and have time for fun. Just kidding...sounds good to me

How do people feel about Atlantic City, NJ for a Central East Coast Gathering? It would also be awesome to see a large group of Prowlers in lower Manhahttan. Prowler is an American Icon and we could cruise in memory of 9/11

If anyone has another Idea for a central location please post?

Lets try to shoot for the weekend of June 15-16.

Any one have any pull in the Hotel industry so that we can stay in a nice hotel and get a group rate on rooms?

Spoons - gambling cities like Atlantic City usually have lower rates than others for same type of rooms because they expect to make $$ from you in the casinos. However weekends are more expensive. Be sure you call the hotel and ask for the Sales Department, not Reservations, to discuss rates. It will also help if you schedule when a large convention in NOT going to be in town.

Hope that helps

JUNE 15 - 16 ** Atlantic City ** East Coast Gathering

Mark your Calenders I want to see 30+ cats show up.

Atlantic City would be ideal place for a East Coast Gathering. There is lots to do there like cruise the strip, gambling, beaches, shows, nightlife and more.

I just need some help from someone who lives in the area or knows the area well. I have never been there before so I am not sure what hotels are nice and have good parking. When I was in FL I would get a group rate on rooms and make SURE there is secure parking. (plus if everyone tips the security guard like $5-10to watch our cars)

Anyone help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

I agree with the secured parking. You get very far off the strip and there are some questionable areas.
Count us in!!

Spoons, I do not want to throw cold water on your event but in my opinion Atlantic City is the armpit of the USA. When you go out the back door of the Casinos you are taking your life in your hands. I would definitely have to have armed security to watch the cats. Just south of Atlantic City is very nice so it is not the entire area. Cape May is beautiful.
I am sure there are others who will disagree with me but that is one of the very few places I have been that I would never consider going back to. JOMO

Safe place for the cats to park is #1 priority in the trip. Last things we want is for people to worry about there baby and NOT have a good time.

Maybe one to the casino will want us to park out front and give us VIP parking?

Spoons...
Hope you are well. Thanks for pulling this together, and being the driving force behind it... I am glad one of us got this going... I remember you talking about getting everyone together at the CAAP tour on the 18th of January on our way to the Auto Show.
I am up for AC, but I totally agree with Ed. There really is not much of a strip to drive down and if you make a wrong turn... You might have 30+ prowler owners walking home and 30+ new members if you know what I mean... Everyone who goes there sticks to the boardwalk, if they are not in the casino's... There are some casino's with a fenced in areas and we might have to pay for a security guard to stay there the whole night and for the two day shifts. I don't know how much it will be... Nice place to visit, would never consider living there... In fact I am going on the 15th to burn some tax money!!! Not bringing the Kat though I will keep an eye out and try to do a little research. Cape May is really beautiful and is much safer. Even if we go to Long Beach Island... Major strip, nice area. We can even cruise the Seaside Heights - Island Beach State Park strip north of there. Many options. I will cruise anywhere. The only real tough thing I am having to deal with is the date.
The Idea for the WTC site car tour is cool too, but we might have major problems trying to park I might be able to work out some thing with the FDNY or NYPD as well...
I have had ideas about a trip like this as well. Have a cruise start way out on the West Coast. Cruise your state with something everone can sign and have everyone take pictures along the way making its way through every State. Sort of like the Olympic Torch. Winding it's way through the U.S. and end up in Manhattan. We can even collect donations along the way and give it to the NYPD/FDNY/PAPD WTC Fund in the POA name... Would be great to end up there on the 11th of September as well...

I will definately help out in any way I can. Let me know what you need.

I might have an in at the Pocono Raceway. Only thing is that is would not be able to happen on the dates stated. His son is getting married that weekend. From what I understand, they have a class where they will teach you how to drive really fast in your car. Safe and sound... You also get to use your car on the track... Should be other things in the area for us to do too.
Hey Trey! What about Philly???
There is also SteamTown USA in PA http://www.nps.gov/stea/ I don't know if anyone is into trains. but they have a great collection of engines, train rides and a working roundhouse. Trolley Museum etc. Oh, there is mall there too. For those Civil War buffs, Gettysburg... Might be a nice place to tour with the Kats. Hershey Park...
Just throwing out ideas. There is also Great Adventure in NJ... The kats will get a lot of attention there. There is also an option that if we go to the Jersey shore, we can charter a few boats and go DEEP sea fishing for Shark or Yellow Fin Tuna out past the shelf... Whale Watching in Mass. Any body else with any ideas???

Hey Guys & Gals! Don't let this idea die!!! Let's make this happen. Does any one else have any ideas? It would be great to get as many Kats together as possible! The more input we get, the better we can plan and make it accessible for everyone. It is really up to us! We can make up shirts and even give out trophies for the furthest traveled, etc.

Spring is here! Hibernation is over! It's time to PROWL!

After reading some of these posts, I don't think I want to take my Kat to Atlantic City (At least not without an armed guard).
