I attended the Dallas Auto Show on Sunday afternoon and of course I had to check out the DC area for a Prowler. The Prowler (Inca Gold) was sitting at the front row and open for all to see and crawl around in. The Prowler had more people around it than almost any other car. Not bad for a 5 plus year old design! The new 350Z Nissan had the largest crowd, followed by the 2003 SLC500 and the Prowler. Steve PS I may be able to pick up a few programs if any one would like one. They were sold by the local Boy Scout troops as a fund raiser. If I get them I will post a new topic. ------------------ |

Steve How did the new Z look in person? Is it pretty small? Might make a cool commuter down the road...... I was thinking. My 1st car was a 71' 240Z.... was a cool ride. Of coarse it was in 83'. ------------------ |

Frank, It looked better than the photos I have seen. It is larger than I expected. The new car is just a little larger than the previous 2 seater. I had a '90 2+2 that had the best shifting 5spd I have ever seen. The dash is neat with the gauges in "pods". Looked a little strange as a right hand driver though. Steve, My wife, Toby and I was there Sunday boy what alot of people.. My wife loved the Austin Martin, Me I loved the Lamborghini. I guess we all missed the 300zx ( I have owned 3 Turbos) So now I am alittle mad. The Gold Prowler After standing around for about 15min and watched about 30 people try there best to get in an out of this car was a sad sight....I heard mixed words about the car, I think the best one was 3 guys walked by and one of them said Hey look at the Prowler!!The other guy said (still walking) I would not pay 60k for a 4 Banger!!!! they are SLOW. ------------------ |

I totally forgot about the Lamborghini! My wife caught me staring and reminded me that while she is willing to let me play with my cars, she would not go for 1/4 million plus! Besides I get all the attention I can handle in my Orange "4 banger"! The Z was in the middle of the showroom on a turntable, surrounded by people, had to walk thru them to see it. Steve PS. I have not told her that I have one on order, the Z, not the Lamborghini! ------------------ |

Yeah I was standing over near the atlantic, and heard some people walk up and one said what is that, the other said oh that's a prowler. It just goes to show that our cars are still rare enough that some people don't even recognize it when see it. "I sure hope they produce the Atlanic." Hint, hint, CJ pass this along to Bob. For those of you who haven't seen one I'll post some pictures later. ------------------ Toby |

The Atlantic has been on the show circuit for a long time. The car has a straight 8 cylinder engine. I think the wheels are at least 22". ------------------ This message has been edited by BeWare on 03-04-2002 at 08:22 PM |
