Hey Gang,

Can you install the prowler's rear spoiler without drilling a hole for the brake light in the wing?

I was told no. Would love to know another way without drilling. I would buy on in a minute.

If you are going to install the spoiler what difference would it make if you had to drill a hole or two? You are customizing the car and if in the future you want to put it back to stock, which I doubt, you would need to have the deck lid repainted so the holes could be fixed then anyway....This is really JUST A CAR....

I didn't want to do anything to mine when I 1st got it but after the 1st mod it really isn't any different than the other 100 or so cars I've had. I also doubt mine will ever be plain yellow again.

I drilled a hole because I wanted the tail to stay on. I do not plan on removing it so it is ok in my book. JMO

DavidN did add the tail without drilling a hole, I think he used a hole that was there when he removed the third brake light.

When installing the rear spoiler, to make the spoiler lay flat on the deck lid and have the double sided tape adhere properly, and also make the brake light work, a hole needs to be drilled. I believe DavidN ran his along the underside of the spoiler towards the front door and then routed it underneath the deck lid. The problem with that way is DavidN was having problems with the spoiler laying flat against the deck lid due to the thickness of the wire underneath the spoiler.
You can try to route the wire harness for the light in the spoiler thru one of the existing holes for the stock light but the wire will be visible between the spoiler and the cap we supply to cover the stock brake light holes. We have tried to redesign the spoiler to route the wire thru the stock holes but we haven't come up with a design that looks as good as what we currently have.
