Well, I did my 2nd SCCA autocross yesterday in Gonzales, La. For all our new owners, if you see the local chapter of the SCCA hosting an autocross event, you might want to give it a try... The Prowler handles very well & it's harmless to the car...(your ego may get hurt a little)... It's considered a low speed event & drive in, around & through those little orange cones. One car at at time... The course yesterday was very tight (lots of turns) and we made two laps for each run... I never hit any cones, but I did DNF on 1st run becasue I went the wrong way & drove around the wrong side of one cone... This is a lot of fun... They emphasize safety... Many of the So. Cal guys & gals drive in them & Fred & some of the other Houston area owners participate in the events there... You don't have to be a member of SCCA to run. Open to 1st timers & novices... They couldn't talk Karen into running, but I think she enjoyed herself (somewhat). It can be a long day, because you have to work when you're not running... It's just another way to enjoy your Prowler... ------------------ This message has been edited by Laddie Roussel on 02-24-2002 at 07:15 AM |

Laddie, We've run a few of these out here. They are a blast and a great way to find the handling capabilities of your Prowler and yourself. These events are very safe and a lot of fun. You will be surprised at how well your car will handle when called upon. For those who are not performance inclined, these events are a MUCH better way to learn than on a exit ramp of the freeway just exactly what your car will do in an emergency situation. Eveyone should know the limits of their car just in case they ever need to use it for any evasive action. This message has been edited by Larry Lord on 02-24-2002 at 02:35 PM |
