Boy I dont know where to begin. This was the first event that my wife and I have attended. I want to thank a few people who really made us feel welcome. CJ & Bob Longstreth, for such a big turnout, everything was so organized. I really believe that the CAAP workers will remember that day for the rest of there lives. The plaques that were presented to each worker will be a lasting memory. Mike & Judy Krehel, no amount of thanks would ever be enough for what you do with the POA site. The personalized name tags were such a nice touch, they helped the first time visitors get to know all of you veterans. To all of the managers and workers at the CAAP plant for letting us take the final tour and being able to sign our names on the Deep Candy Red trunk to be on permanent display at the Conner Avenue Plant. To Harold Sullivan for being so gracious in letting us visit his personal collection of unbelievably rare Mopar muscle cars. To Mike & Karen Gatlin for the excellant videos that we all smiled & laughed at back at the hotel. Ed & Sandy Monahan(Ed would make an enemy feel welcome), Dave & Brenda Mills, Laddie Roussel, Ron & Sue Clark, Wayne Finch, Larry & Sue Mayes, Leon Pearson, Lee Schaeffer, Tom & Sue Mills, & Rich & Linda Ware. These are just a few of the many who made us feel welcome. Thanks................. Margie & Scott Ambrose ------------------ This message has been edited by skuter on 02-10-2002 at 09:28 AM |

I just returned from the CAAP Tribute and also wanted to say THANK YOU to the many people who made the Tribute such a memorable event… it was sad but just being there to honor the efforts of Prowler Team was very special. To the many talented people who brought the Prowler into our lives... the engineers and craftsmen that built them... the tireless efforts of CJ & Bob in supporting our beloved Cats… the generosity of Judy & Mike to grow our Prowler Family… to the many others that contribute to our pleasures of owing a Prowler. To ALL of YOU, a personal and sincere THANK YOU… we will always remember you. Nancy and I are so thankful for the many blessings that allow the "Yeller Cat" to sleep in our garage... the many friendships that have come our way as we Prowl the streets... the pride of owing America's Finest and to be a part of American Automotive History. I am so glad I participated in this Tribute to the Prowler, truly an American Classic... an American Icon. One thing for certain... "You meet the nicest people when you own a Prowler". Sincerely, Jay ------------------ |

Scott, very nice to meet you. We had a great time meeting new people and reaquainting with others. This site certainly allows you to get to know a lot of people and even though you only see them a few times, it is like you are old buddies.

Great to see you at CAAP. I have never seen anybody come to an event for the 1st time, who couldn't wait to come to the next one. This is a terrific group! One comment on the Video stuff Friday Nite...Special thanks to GPS John in seeking out a vcr we could use. Hotels were all checked out so John punched VCR into his GPS and off to Blockbuster he went. Unfortunatly the GPS couldn't check inventory, so after a couple of Blockbuster stops and a new membership he came screaming back with the machine and a free 5 day movie rental. You can always depend on John to get the job done, and provide a couple of memories to talk about at the next event. ------------------ |

Just a quick answer to your question. In a word YES! We all got a chance to meet some very nice people. And we would also like to thank all of the employees responsible for building the cars that we have come to love so much. ------------------ |

Hello Everyone, Judy and I just got back home. We really enjoyed seeing everyone at CAAP, and what a great turnout we had with 85 + Prowler Enthusiasts participating in the tribute tour. We want to thank everyone that participated and especially want to thank everyone at CAAP for the warm welcome we received. Yes, the Prowler production will end with a big bang! It was announced on Friday that the final production will end with a very special car that will be painted High Voltage Blue with an anodized frame and special interior and soft top. We were told that this one of a kind car will be raffled off for charity, so that everyone can have a chance to win! The POA presented the 250+ CAAP employees with a very special hand crafted model Prowler on a walnut base with a tribute plaque. Along with the models, the men and women at CAAP and everyone in attendence received a tribute CD that contained the Plant Tribute photos and My Prowler and Me pictures. Again, a big thank you to everyone that attended, and to ALL the really SPECIAL people at CAAP that made this possible! ------------------ |

For everyone who could not make the CAAP tour, you really missed a great event. We missed seeing some of the REGULARS, like Sasquatch, DavidN, PaulR, John Davies and others but there were still a lot of the familiar faces. We really enjoyed ourselves and there were some first timers there that will be showing up at future events. You cannot compare this event to past events since it was different and unique but it was definitely a "10" on any scale. Thanks VERY much to CJ & Bob and their son who did a tremendous amount of work getting the plaques ready in time. Thanks, of course to Mike & Judy and Chris Krehel who are directly responsible for getting all of us together on this site. The tribute to the workers was moving. I think they all appreciated the fact that we all appreciate the work they have done to make the most awesome car in the world. I am really glad we were able to make it to the plant. I was expecting to really enjoy the week-end but it surpassed my expectations by ten fold. Thanks to everyone who showed up and made the week-end memorable. Thanks to the Gatlins for providing the entertainment. You two are talented. I didn't care for the motorcycle part but the rest of the tape and CD was great. I hope CJ collected enough money to cover all the costs of the CD's and other mementos. On a side note, it appeared that all the Cannucks behaved themselves, so that was REALLY unusual. They had a really good turnout and represented the Canadian Prowler Owners quite well. They speak english, also. ------------------ |

I want to echo all the comments made so far. It was a super gathering. I think their was a sincere sense of appreciation from all the workers at CAAP for the nice token of appreciation & the overwhelming turnout... It was nice to meet some new Prowler friends and renew some acquaintances with the friends we have met Prowling the country... I'll post some more pics under the other thread... Thanks to all who made this possible... ------------------ |

The event exceeded our expectations 10 fold as well. I did not sleep very well Thursday night in anticipation. Linda and I were standing against the wall and shook the hand of evry plant worker and thanked them as they past by. Linda almost really lost it a couple times and my eyes got moist as well. There was a lot of comraderie in that room. Some of the plant workers had the Prowler owners sign things for them as well. I would have not missed this event for anything. It was a once in a lifetime chance. Special thanks to BOB, CJ and thier son. They put 288 of those tribute gifts together in one night. Bob said each base took five seperate drilling steps on the press and each one took 2 screws to mount the Kats. Not to mention mounting the plaques. Also thanks to Mike and Judy for the DVD's and off course for the POA. It was very nice to finally meet both of you. It was nice seeing everyone. You meet the best people who own a Prowler. This gathering was proof that it is not the cars, but the people that make this so much fun. ------------------ |

Sue & I are Home finally We had a great time and I think the others have done a good job of describing the weekend. Where else can you go and stay up past midnight talking in the lobby to a bunch of friends, and on this trip was many new Prowler Owners. I feel CJ has done another fantastic job of getting the details done on time even though little sleep was had at the Longstreth household the past week. Thank you And GPS John was mentioned for the vcr but he also was the Metro Airport POA taxi for many of the people. I LOVE THIS PLACE....thank you all for a great weekend ------------------ |

Larry, always good to see you and Sue and as always time flies by. My only regret is in not realizing that so many were spending most of the weekend here. Sometimes being close can be a problem. Easy to get there, too easy trying to work back and forth! ------------------ |
