Ok here it is, one pair chuck taylor tennis shoes for day time one for night time, these are small and easy to pack. One pair jeans to ride, one to change, one shirt to wear two to pack, on pair socks, and a change of boxers for the road. Fed Ex anything else you might want in a box to Colorado. Send wife first class on Continental. And you now have tons of room for cd's camera, cola and smokes, sun glasses, and maybe a map. No expensive trailer and just the open road and johnny law to deal with. I think this solution will work from all parts of the US and I believe it will guarantee a smooth easy, painless, gratifying road trip. Of course some of these options will better insure a peaceful ride than others. ------------------ |

Good ideas Chrome - except in our case there are a few minor changes. I will be the one flying to Denver direct from a business trip in Charlotte and Rebecca driving solo to Colorado. Thinking along your same lines, I am shipping all the things from my business trip home before I leave for Denver. (suits, laptop, dress shirts, briefcase, files, etc.) This would require less storage space for the return trip from Colorado. We put together a list of "essentials" and quickly determined that not only do we need a new Prowler Trailer - ordered last week but, it is still questionable that there may be room for both of us in the car!! Of course the new 10 lb Nitrous bottle to be mounted in the trunk is one of my "essentials" so it was easier to get the trailer than to discuss the validity of what we have to take to Colorado. It should be a great event. Look forward to meeting you and a lot of other new friends there. Marty ------------------ Driving my Dream |

Chrome - A change of boxers? The Alley Cat system is to get 3 days out of one pair. day 1 - regular wearing day 2 - turn around 180 degrees day 3 - turn inside out day 4 - is possible, but don't embarrass yourself when Chromer's dog Jack likes you on your arrival to Colorado ------------------ |

Hey Marty, your wife might hook up with our Kat-A-Van from Teaxs if she'd like some company going out there. All depends on the "leave" schedule and route??? Just a thought. ------------------ |

Fred - thanks for the offer. Are you all taking the interstates north out of Dallas to Salina Kansas and then West on I 70 or will you cut across Texas on other roads and enter Colorado from the South? I know Ed Monahan among others is driving out and there are several coming from the East. It would be nice for Rebecca to hook up with one of the groups or possibly arrange for a merge of groups somewhere in Kansas. The only problem is you might give her some secrets on how to dial in the Nitrous kit for better performance and then I'll never get her out of the car or she'll have faster times than me! Rickster - glad to hear you will be going to Colorado! I am hoping for Rebecca to arrive earlier in day on Thursday inorder to pick me up at Denver airport (on far East side of town) and drive to hotel - North???? of Denver (I think). I guess as time gets closer everyone will have a better handle on their schedules. I believe I would rather her arrive later in the day than to make trip alone. Happy Prowling Marty BTW - sorry about the Rams!! ------------------ Driving my Dream This message has been edited by Marty Usher on 02-05-2002 at 08:29 AM |
