I ran across information today regarding luxury tax we have enjoyed! As of January 1, 2002, federal lux tax drops to 3% on amounts over $40.000, down from the 4% on amounts over $38,000 this year.

The tax started in 1996 @ 10% on amounts over $32,000. The tax is scheduled to expire at the end of 2002.
