We have been working with the SoCal Speed Shop on designing a set of retro louvered engine side panels. These will be virgin aluminum with the side marker lights removed and two rows of louvers. The run will be limited to two sets that will be available for purchase. The estimated cost is $1600 per pair, painted to match your vehicle color, plus shipping. These panels are aluminum and they cannot be unhemmed and re-assembled because aluminum cracks. Therefore, the process requires using virgin panels. There are no pictures at this time; however, the drawings are being completed and should be available soon. If anyone is interested, please contact me at Only1CJay@home.com or 248.650.3321. |

Hey CJ, I'd be interested on these functional scoops but also would like to see the cosmetic appeal. Hopefully these help to pump some fresh outside air into the engine compartment. Merry Christmas!! Later... |

No car John. It'll be at Dean's shop for another month or more as not all the parts are made yet. I'll be flying in for just a day if I can. If you are going down let me know and I'll see if I can get a ticket. You ought to see Dean's car, it's pretty impressive. And maybe get a chance to see Socal's side panels. The ornament is digital so far, thanks to Pena. Soon will be machined billet. ------------------ This message has been edited by Marc-Colo-99 on 12-15-2001 at 04:15 PM |

I've been wanting louvered side panels for a long time. Nice that someone's making them and the painted price isn't that bad. On the subject of cracking, couldn't the area of the stock panel be annealed before punching the louvers to prevent cracking? |

JD I'd never race you without it being straight up. No gimmeies. In a foot race the only advantage I'd have is being used to the altitude and my big feet. Alley Cat (aka Big foot) can I borrow your sneakers? You're still gonna regret it. ------------------ |
