The dealer has this clear mylar protectors for the Prolers lower rocker panels and bottom of the from nose to protect from rock chips.

Anyone know the price of the kit and any experience with them. The dealer quoted me 140 + installation.

Sassy,

I have also read in a few trade magazines that some window tint shops are installing the various brands of clear protective films. You might want to check with your local tint shops as well. I don't know about pricing though.

Sasy, If you get a mopar part # that would be GREAT!!!

I have also found this clear 3M chip guard available through Eastwood as noted below:

3M Scotchcal Paint Protector: eastwood part# 52082, 3.75" wide by 75" long roll, $29.99. 1-800-820-9042.

If the mopar stuff is custom cut to fit around the Kat's nose, that would be a better choice I think. I need to get this on my Kat as well.

Here's another source that also sells a "positioning spray."

Griot's, 1-800-345-5789
Part # 77890, 2"wide protective shield, $2.95/ft.
Part # 77892, 4" wide protective shield, $3.95/ft.
Part # 77633, 1/2" Door Edge shield, $1.00/ft.
Part # 77896, 4 ounces positioning spray and squeegee, $4.95.

Does not say it is the 3M stuff but looks to be similar.

Check out www.clearbraconnection.com
He is in Denver but I'm sure someone in your area can do the same thing. If you have any questions just call him.
He did Alex and my cars. Fenders (front to back side, nose up to hood, hood (18 inches), rocker panels to rear tires, mirrors, door handle openings and edge of rear fenders. He's not cheap about 600.00-800.00 but his work is unbeleivable. This guy comes to your home so you don't have to leave the car.

Hey All,
Just wanted to warn you about purchasing P# 04865262AA as I just bought two of these at $160 each. I will be returning them tomorrow.
The mopar box contains 4 pre-cut strips of the same 3M material available (approx 4" wide) as noted from Griot's or Eastwood, and a small squeegee, but at the price they are charging this is a rip-off.
...better to order from Griot's or Eastwood and save about 400%.
