Hello everyone My name is Tyler, I am new to this group. I have recently gained a desire to learn about the Prowlers. I have kind of ignored them as a sports car. Now that I am looking for a new car, the Prowler could be my choice. Currently I own a 1992 Dodge Daytona IROC R/T. (I am sure some of you know what this is) It was the second one ever built. I have invested a lot of money into this car, and I want to put it away and stop driving it. In addition to my cars, my family is also know to sport mopars. Currently in our garages: Belive me, there is more, but I will spare you. I hope to learn a little about these car on the list, and hope maybe it will help me figure out what to buy.

First of all, welcome, second, the Prowler is more of a cruizer than a sports car, thirdly, for the life of me I cannot get to your link to save my life, you need to find someone in your area to take you for a cruiz. Again welcome and Happy Holidays ------------------ |

Welcome turbo. I enjoy it when another Mopar fanatic shows up. The Prowler may not be the fastest cruiser, but we guarantee you that it draws the most attention. ------------------ |

Welcome to the site. Hope you learn alittle from us. The real question as to what one to buy. WHAT COLOR DO YOU LIKE? There are some differences, # 1. color, then next biggest is the ride difference from the `97 & `99 to the softer `00. Then some for the creature comforts like the auto dimming mirror and auto volume on the radio. The car has been in continuous improvement throughout it's life. So one might have something different than another due to the date it was built. Good luck, and I WANT TO RIDE IN THE HEMI CHALLENGER ------------------ |

Kats are awesome cruisers that grab everyone from little kids to little old ladies. Plus the creature comforts and safety features. Hard to beat especially if you add gears and either nitrous or a blower. ------------------ |

I will try to figure out how to get my link work later. Well, I have a lot of questions, so I will start out at the basics. I have read a lot of stats, but no real number. What is the 0-60, and quarter mile on a stock Prowler (98+) What is the fastest quarter mile being run right now in a Prowler? What could I expect to pay for a 98 Prowler??? I was looking around and all the Prowlers for sale and they seam to have extremely low mile!! What kind of milage has been driven on these things??? Anyone ever broken 100,000?? Have there been any recals, or any problem areas on them yet?

Welcome to POA, Tyler..... First, there was never a 1998 Prowler. The 1997 Prowler was delayed so far into the year, that it overlapped and they never bothered with a 98. It went from a 1997 to a 1999 and on..... There are a lot of deals on Prowlers right now that you can get for below invoice. You just have to look around. Check our classified ads. A number of dealers advertise there and also check Ebay. Lots of dealers are selling cars there, also. The Prowler was not built to be a performance car, it was built as a cruisin' car. However, many owners have made modifications to increase performance. There are lots of topics in our archives that you can search for! ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat of course! |

Welcome to the site...I myself an reletively new here and learning fast...My Prowler is a 2002, and I do enjoy the car very much..... I am in Atlanta for the winter and have come across several left over 2001 models (new) and there are usually several used in every sunday paper in Atlanta...... E-mail me if you would like to know more.... One salseman told me an offer at 39000 on the silver or orange one he had would get it, but I believe he would go lower.... This was about 3 weeks ago and I do not know if either one is still available...... He also had a couple vipers but I am not real familiar with these cars.... Good luck Brad ------------------ |

Tyler - 0-60 times depending where you read have been in the 5.6 to 6.0 range and mid 14's to low 15's for 1/4 mile on stock Prowlers. Some times depend on altitude, some think the 99's are a shade quicker. Gears, exhaust, and Cold air intake seem to get between a half to full second better ET performance. There have been about seven or so Prowlers with either nitrous, Paxton Supercharger, or both get into the 12's. Reports have been posted one guy in Florida ran somewhere around 11.6. Hopefully some of the guys that like to hit the dragstrip will post more or confirm this info. As far as buying a Prowler, CJ is right about ebay for used cars. Some low mileage Prowlers availabe there in the mid $30K range. I was going to say don't get caught up in the discussion of which color is the best to buy, just get BLACK. But that might start a whole string of best color posts. Happy Prowling Marty ------------------ |

Welcome Tyler!!! You will denfinetly gain all the knowledge you need about Prowlers at this site. The guys were instrumental and helped tons when I bought my ORANGE Prowler last April. I will have to agree with the others that the car gives you a feeling no other car does when driving it. Everyone looks and stares. The car may have been built as a cruiser but I don't think anyone will disagree with me that the cars 20x10 inch rear tires stick to the turns at high speeds and comes out strong with the driver grinning ear to ear. It is just a blast to drive.... and don't get caught up in the color trap Marty's had nothing but BADLUC since he got a Black Kat. Alex ------------------ |
