On Dec. 9 we will be delivering all the toys everyone has collected for the Toys for Tots to Camp Pendleton. We are working on an event escort, so we need to know about how many cars we will have cruising up the coast! It should be a wonderful day - and boy do we ever have a lot of toys to deliver! So please respond to let us know if you will joining us! It has been a great pleasure having your group join us this year, we will have to do it all again next year!!

Kathy - we will be going with two vehicles, the prowler and the durango - please don't double count us as we will be counted on the durango board also.

On a side note - we really missed not having any PT Cruisers at the Simi Wal-Mart - it was a fun day

I talked to Kathy on Sunday and she said everything should be in order and announced on Tuesday. Meeting time would possibly around 10 ish and then cruise to C.P. around 11:30 ish, everything was still up in the air because C.P. is leary on having vehicles on Base since the 9-11 act.

I guess we need to wait a little longer to hear the final word.

Why she needs a car count is because The Marines will be giving out plaques to all that participate this Sunday.

WOW, I finally get to meet NORB, cool.

Julie and I will be there and will be bringing a few others.

We will be meeting for breakfast just off the 5 freeway in the Santa Ana area on Sunday morning to group up with the others for our run to Camp Pendleton. Departing Camp Pendleton we will be taking highway 76 eastbound for a scenic drive to Warner Springs, then returning to the 15 freeway via highway 79 northbound.

More information will be available about the breakfast and cruise as soon as KruzenKat gets me some definite times for the Toys for Tots drop off. Kathy,,,We need details and times!

Larry - just got the post for the meeting place and times. Here is the info:

Meeting time and place.

Seaside Beach
Meet & Greet 10am-11:30am
Off the 101 on the Cardiff / Solana Beach border
Take 5 to Lomas Santa Fe west
Turn right (north) onto the 101
Once you pass Ocean St. you will see the parking lot on the left. (there is a lagoon on the right)
At 11:30am we will head up the 101 to Oceanside.

If you miss the meet and greet.
We will meet at the parking lot at the corner of Marron Rd. and Monroe St. between noon and 12:30 (78 to Jefferson south. Follow around to Plaza Camino Real. Parking lot is across from Olive Garden)

If anyone is interested, I would like to do lunch at Olive Garden after the ceremony.

Cliff,

Since you are planning the Olive Garden for lunch, I think it's best if we just cancel the breakfast meeting and we'll join you and the group for lunch at the Olive Garden.

My new plan is for the Inland Empire group to depart Riverside at 9:30 AM, stop in Temecula at 10:00 AM for a cup of coffee in Old Town, hookup with a few more cars and then travel to the Drop Off Ceremonies in Oceanside. We will depart Temecula via DeLuz Road westbound, across the Santa Rosa Plateau, southbound over the Santa Marguerita River, into Fallbrook, then Highway 78 westbound to Oceanside. This is a very nice scenic drive and we will keep the speeds moderate for the trip.

We are planning on being in the parking lot across from the Olive Garden by Noon.
If anyone would like to take the drive with us, please send me an e-mail to let me know.
If not, then we'll see you at Noon in the parking lot.

Julie and I look forward to seeing everyone there.

Cliff --

Does that mean we're NOT meeting in Solana Beach at 10:00 AM? If so, that's too bad -- I was kind of looking forward to that -- it's a pretty drive. Coming from Piru, I know you're not hesitant about the extra drive. Please let us know if there will still be a group at the early Meet & Greet. Thanks.

Yes - we will be at the meet & greet at Solana Beach. In fact, we are actually going down on Saturday for the Durango Owners Club christmas party and then we will be delivering the toys on Sunday.

The group that is coming with Larry will miss the meet & greet.

Please - come to the meet and greet if you can! It will be a great opportunity to meet new friends and see people we haven't seen in a while.

Cliff,
Not sure yet on the car count.

Rudy and everyone else,
If you want to take a nice drive, we can meet in Corona at 9:00 AM like the last time and you can cruise down with us.

Sorry for being so disorganized. Just let me know what works best for everyone.

Well Boys,

I been ah mulling over this west coast cruise scheduled for this weekend in Oceanside. While I don't seem to get out so much anymore, primarily due to my age, I feel that this might be a good cause.

Apparently, there will be a number of POA members in attendance and it would be a pleasure to meet some of you. I am also anxious to meet Gary's new main squeeze and see his Viper in action. All of this proposed activity is making an appearance by me a valid thought.

I called Gary and asked him about also bringing the Delorean as my great grandson "Skeeter" and his squaw wanted to also attend. Gary said that while he thought that it might be acceptable, he felt that the group was sort of skewed towards Chrysler products and a pristine Delorean might not be appropriate.

I understand and, therefore, I might just send Skeeter in my Prowler. I am concerned however, as Skeeter is a youngin and I am a little worried about him being out in the Prowler without proper supervision. The insurance situation and all that power do give me a reason to fret a might.

If yous guys would keep an eye on the little feller, I would definitely agree to let him and his squaw use the Prowler and attend in my place. Please let me know.

Skeeter and his squaw are both 52 years old and, as the youngster of the family, I always worry when he is out alone.

Lastly, I'll load Skeeter up with a few of my famous "tater Chips" and my plastic performance gears, the performance mussel option for the Prowler, and maybe some of you boys would like to purchase them. Special holiday prices are in effect and in addition, I would donate 100% of the proceeds to the campaign of the day.

Let me know what you all think.

Gotta run now as I just got a fresh batch of Prune Whip out of the oven and I am excited about just eating my way through this delectable meal.

Scot

Larry Lord, Just so everyone else knows, moderate speeds for you means what.......not over 90???? The only time you have done "moderate speeds" was when you were stuck at the back leaving Crazy Horse!! LOL
