Jack Breevaart left us the Tuesday before Thanksgiving driving what he loved, his 1999 Red Prowler that he had won from the local Indian Casino. His daughter Carrie has set up an "Ag Mechanic Scholarship Fund" at Chico State University for those who would like to contribute. The address is: College of Agriculture The checks should be made out to "CSU, Chico Agriculture" and in the memo, put Jack Breevaart. You will receive a thank you from the development director of the Ag department, then after the first of the year you'll receive a receipt from the main development office for the campus that you can use for tax purposes. If you can find it in your hearts to contribute, please do Jack was a wonderful person and will be missed. For those that want to know what happened the car was in very bad shape. Jack slid into a Telephone pole sideways at about 50 to 60 miles per hour, it hit the car right at the drivers door and caved in the door about 18 inches. He knew nothing after that. Then the car flipped over on to its roof (backwards) and the pole fell on top of the car. The funny thing is there is no damage to the engine hood or either front wheel covers. Jack was an x-race driver and it is hard to believe something like that could have happend to him. Know your car, drive safely, and let's help Jack satisfy one of his wishes and contribute to his scholarship. ------------------ This message has been edited by CA Phil on 12-01-2001 at 10:36 PM |

In memory of Jack (who I did not know) I will be sending a donation. Northern California's ag mechanics classes are very well known. Not only do they teach modern ag machinery repair they teach theory and inovation from early inventors and developers. I have worked with some individuals from the UC Davis Ag program in assistance to them as they restored early Caterpillar tractors for the colleges exhibit. I also encourage anyone to donate in memory of our lost prowling friend but also to educate those in the agricultural mecca of the US, central and northern California. Rest In Peace Prowlin' friend... ------------------ |

Bobcat, Thank you! Jane and I too are contributing to Jack's scholarship. John, I hadn't heard from the 2 other Prowler people who live in that area. Jane and I did send flowers representing the Northern California Prowlers. ------------------ This message has been edited by CA Phil on 12-02-2001 at 09:45 PM |
