Here is one, I was wondering if anyone else has done this to their Kat. First of all I baby my car. I never drive it I have had it 7 months and it has 1600 miles. Today, I gave it the test. I had a long Saturday with my kids driving me nuts, so I go outside, wash the vette, but decide I need a blast in the Kat. Put in a cd of some good driving tunes and hit the road. I stuck my foot thru the floor board so many times I can not count, I changed lanes where there was no space do do so, I HALLED *** AND IT WAS GREAT!. I mean I rapped it out in all gears at all times for about an hour. My brakes had to be red hot! If it had not have been my car, you would have thought the abuse was intentional(It was), Well, I was wondering anyone else ever hit the Kat hard? She loved it. Peace, out. |

Yep - and I don't have kids that drive me nuts, they are past that age. |

Nelson, what age is that? My kids are 21 and 28 and they still have their "moments". I get on the Cat about once a year, whether I need it or not. ------------------ |

Your Kat will rot in the garage. It needs attention. I run mine to get rid of stress on a bad day in the stock market. I also run it to celebrate a good day in the stock market. When little is going on, and I need to add some excitement to the day....here I go again. Is a car worth anything if you can't drive it? |

Dave, My kids are 39, 36, and 19. Our 19 year old son is still at home - he rarely 'tests the boundaries' now; not like he did when he was younger. Thank Goodness! |

Chrome H##%%% yes. If you make it to the Rocky Mountain event next year just don't try to keep up with Chromer. He hits the rev limiter so many times you lose count, and he loves to slide thru corners on those great mountain roads. 1st time I cruised with him I learned how to really drive one of these cars. |

You never know how far you can take the car till you put it on the edge. Occasionally I take all my vehicles there. It breaks up the arterial plaque. I guess the secret is knowing where the edge is and if you lose it, dont take anyone with you. Like Clint says "are you feeling lucky punk?" I know mines coming, I just dont know when. The Cat surprised you huh? I felt that way too when I started hammering on it. I havn't had my Cat for 7, count em, SEVEN MONTHS!!!!!! This thing better make me grin when I get it back. |

Chrome - Ya only live once, and if you've got a Kat or a Snake to "play with", you absolutely owe it to yourself o keep the carbon cleaned out of the system and as Butchee says .."break up the arterial plaque" in your system! I only manage to last about a week or so before I have to go for a dose of "stress relief" in my Kat. I normally hit 60+ in my driveway before I even hit the road then hang on to your shorts as its balls to the wall. I've got 18K+ on the Kat and very few miles are "city driving", or normal, sedate, 55mph crap. You've got the car for "it", so use it like it was ment to be used and enjoy! |

I generally keep close (within 10 MPH) of posted speed limits, but I have a good time getting up to speed. One of my favorite places to push my Prowler is on the entrance and exit ramps. Our ramps are different from the ones you all have in Texas; lots of curves, no side access roads. I had the exhaust system modified in August - right before Woodward. I have long since blown out the new glass pacs and now they sound like straight pipes. I'll probably have to replace them soon since I will be doing a lot of driving with the top up (more noise) for the next several months. It's fun pushing the car, just need to be careful. I seem to have a lead foot often. This car was made to be driven. I know many have said that the Prowler is not a true performance car but I disagree. There is a group of roads in Wisconsin called the Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive. (basically, twisty turneys for miles!!!) My cat flies through those turns and twists. I love every minute of it!! (My wife usually smacks me if I go to fast) take care tsf... |

I don't think that I could ever get into the kat and not get on it at least a little bit. Most times I'm full bore into to it. It was made to be DRIVEN and that's what I do. Voodoo |

A Prowler was not built to sit in a garage, and it just doesn't look right humming along like the rest of them. Ours has travelled 4K miles in 16 months and has had lots of time going full bore. In rodder tradition it has never been pulled over by a policeman but it seems to know all the places where max acceleration can take place. As long as it's safe, let the Kat howl. ------------------ |
