For all you East Coast guys that don't want to drive the Prowler to this event, but...want to get your Prowler there and back in one piece, with no mileage(except for the cruisin')...read on. I'm in the process of checking with a friend in the transportation business for rates. The max. numbers of cars per enclosed hauler is eight. The start/loading point will be MD/VA to Colorado and back. The event starts Friday - Monday, so I've tried to schedule the cars to be there by (for either date) Thurs. night or Fri. morning and re-loaded by Mon. afternoon. Any interest? Questions? ------------------ |

Gene - great idea, and hope you east coasters can fill up TWO transporters!!! I'm sure there will be a group who also wants to drive to the Colorado event, and catavan west together. Try and keep both interests motivated and focused toward this great event in 2002. |

You can count on me getting there but I can't pass up the chance to drive out there. Too much fun. Voodoo |

Voodoo, Maybe I'll end up driving or towing my car, but: $181 roundtrip on Continental Airlines + transport fees + motel certainly looks appealing, plus having 0 miles added to my Cat. I would like to be somewhat awake for Ed's and AlleyCat's tearful reunion, not to mention looking at the other cats. ------------------ |

Mean Gene, I would be interested. I want to attend but the thought of 20 hours in a KAt does not excite me. I'm in Cincinnati. Let me know what you come up with. ------------------ |

Having trailered my Cat to Crazy Horse from PA, I can tell you guys that half the fun was the trip out and back. We had a great group of people in that Cat-a-van, and I for one would prefer to go that same way again. ------------------ |

ALRIGHT! Hey guys however you get here just be sure you get here. Hopeing we can have 50+ Prowlers. I know a 20 hr drive is the pits but caravaning with other Cats and maybe an overnight along the route would break it up. If any of you are flying in we will do all we can to arrange airport pick-ups for those that come in Thursday. Friday may be a little tougher to arrange but we"ll do all we can to get you to the base hotel. ------------------ |

Marc I am kind of concerned about the side by side driving. The last time I did that was with JD in Wyoming and.... ------------------ |

Dave, I couldn't agree more! As I remember we had 16 units, everything from car and driver, open and enclosed trailer, motor home...one guy was even hauling a motorcycle! The stops orchestrated by GPS John along the way were terrific (most notably the Field of Dreams). Instead of a few days of dull driving by yourself, let the vacation start as soon as you hook up with a cat-a-van ------------------ |

I would ONLY use Exotic car transport out of Orlando, FL. They don't mess around and there trucks are state of the art. The trucks have a central inflation system so all tires remain the same pressure on the truck. there prices are resonable too. I believe there website is http://www.exoticcartransport.com ------------------ This message has been edited by spoons on 11-17-2001 at 10:28 AM |

Well...the price is $$$$$$$$$$$, way too pricy. Sorry! I guess its cat-on-a-trailer for me, or drive 25+ hours with Dave and Voodoo and the "Fun Bunch". ------------------ |

MeanGene, Your more then welcome to jump in with me. I still don't know if it's going to be a nice med. speed trip or a HIGH SPEED BURN out but if there is a big group I'll do what ever the group want's to do. I'm just looking foward to meeting all the people on the board that everbody talks about. A couple of my friends want to go also but don't yet own Kats. I told them that this would be a great chance to learn about them if they wanted. I have a 72 Firebird with a 455 that they want to take across. Told them they pay for the gas....No Problem. My Kat can't keep up with it on the strights but it won't take the turns like a Kat will. Should be fun if nobody minds some future Kat owners comming along. Let me know if anybody thinks that would be a problem. Voodoo |
