By the way, I have the pictures of the car show on a CD, and I posted the Skyline trip pictures also. Come on down and I'll show you the RealRod version of the belly pan. ------------------ |

Darcy -- Looking at MeanGene's profile, it shows he doesn't have an occupation. I want his job! And as long as we're talking about occupations, from the looks of your profile it looks like you and I may have similar positions. My title is VP Optical Technologies at Newport Opticom (a telecom company). We can take this conversation off-line if you want (see my e-mail in my profile). -- Tarzan ------------------ |

Thanks, Dan. The TGF belly pan (valance) is uncluttered and functional. We love ours in black, but whatever color it is, the clean, traditional street rod look is awesome. And it leaves those big, wide rear tires out in the open where the should be on a drag machine. ------------------ |

Good question JD, Also do you have to use the borla tips? Has anyone put this on when they had the Mopar/Borla exhaust? It does appear that the Mopar exhaust hangs slightly lower than the original factory exhaust. Just courious if it then wouldn't look right being not as snug to the pan. ------------------ This message has been edited by Blue Tie #1 on 11-11-2001 at 03:48 PM |

Larry Lord said something about a trailer hitch that was mounted where the TGF belly pan has the license plate. You could mount a spring loaded, flip down plate (like a lot of cars have over the gas filler pipe) over the place where the trailer hitch should be. Help us out, Larry! Bob, the Borla tips are optional. With our tgf belly pan we use the stock tips and replaced the stock muffler with a Borla muffler. Whatever set-up you use the tailpipes and tips take a little adjusting to fit with the belly pan, and any good exhaust expert can do it to suit your preference. ------------------ This message has been edited by catterumpus on 11-11-2001 at 09:32 PM |

I built a custom recessed hitch for Jim Rogers' red Prowler (the one with the rear wing at the Crazy Horse event) that has a TGF rear pan. I was told a while back that TGF now makes a hitch for their rear pan but am not sure if they do. Contact Norb to get the full story. The hitch that I made utilized the stock bumper mounting holes and bolts but I needed to drill a 2.5" hole into the center of the rear crossmember for the receiver to fit into as there was not enough depth for the hitch otherwise. Jim then installed a slide out plate mount that could be mounted to the ball mount of the hitch when it's in use. This message has been edited by Larry Lord on 11-11-2001 at 10:07 PM |

Yes, we do make our own hitch that is hidden behind the license plate. We also supply the spring loaded license plate frame with it. Our hitch is approx. 3 1/2' higher than the Mopar hitch because of it's location. For those customers that already have a Mopar hitch when ordering a TGF roll pan., We supply the hitch at no cost, but ask for your Mopar hitch as a core return. You pre-pay the shipping costs for your hitch to us. You keep all the mounting hardware from you Mopar hitch, plus the reciever, to use on our hitch. it is the same weight rating as the Mopar hitch and mounts in the same manner. Monte Gillespie, who was at the Balboa/Newport Beach event has one on his Prowler. I don't have a picture of it to post, but anyone who knows him can contact him for his opinion. I do have a limited supply in stock! 5 or 6, I believe! As for the Borla exhaust tips we offer with the roll pan, if you have a different preference of exhaust tips, I will discount the cost of the tips, $120.00, from the purchase and you supply your own. Yes, we did design the roll pan in mind with the Borla Carbon Fiber tips, but I have installed other tips for my customers as well. I have used anything from straight pipes to stainless steel oval shaped like on the CLK Mercedes Benz's. Anything will work, where ever your imagination leads you. ------------------ |
