The flames look great!!! Since I had mine flamed six weeks ago, I have been amazed at the comments. If you think your Prowler has been getting attention in the past, "you ain't seen nothing yet" Enjoy Happy Prowling Marty ------------------ |

Vinyl flames or graphics are easy and cheaper. Ours were $236 and the same pattern in single color would be $77. Speedgraphics includes very detailed installation instructions and has a video you can download too. It took me most of the day by myself, not hard at all, but it takes care and patience. If you're thinking about it, go for it. Marty, people really do react more to the Kat. Seems like the flames make it obvious it is a custom car. Bunch of fun ------------------ |

Yeah, Rich, our Kat was definitely not stock before the flames. "Basic" to me means a car in the basic street rod tradition. Anything that doesn't belong to the essence of what it should be gets dumped. We took it all off. Sun visors, windshield wipers, etc. I fell in love with cars in the 50's, when the clean look took hold, the time of nosing and decking, the time when George Barris and others made door handles and other unnecessary decoration disappear. Frenched headlights and taillights. Filled in body panel seams and rounded door corners. I guess simplicity and functional appearance are what I like. Much of the innovation by the customizers and auto body experts of the past is now part of the design and engineering of contemporary cars including the Prowler. (I once talked to George Barris about modifying the 59 Renault I had at the time. He told me it was hopeless and to at least start with a different car.} ------------------ |

Looks great!! I have one question about vinyl grahics in general... will the paint around the graphics fade in time if exposed to the sun, espeically in climate like Las Vegas?? I do keep my Kat garaged but just wondered if this is something to be concerned about if and when you ever took the graphics off. Thanks, MadMikey ------------------ |

Good question, Mikey. We never thought about it. I've emailed Mike at Speedgraphics.net for more info. ------------------ |

Mike, who owns speedgraphics, emailed me and said what makes sense about any vinyl graphics. The graphic will protect the paint from whatever happens to it. If you don't protect it, don't wax it, don't garage it, etc, the paint not under the graphic will change faster than whatever is under the graphic. We all know that if you protect your car, it will look better and last longer. Give you Kat the love it deserves! ------------------ |
