I hope this one materializes, it would look so good sitting next to the "BadKat". Anybody heard if it's going to make it from concept to production? http://www.buickclub.org/blackhawk ------------------

I have had that car in my album for over a year, one of the coolest cars I have seen.,,,,,,,,,,,, I would buy it. But I think Rich is right. too bad,, but hey, they said the same thing about not building the Prowler for a while too. Anything can happen. ------------------ |

Too bad is right!!! That engine has all the torque you could ever ask for and it is one SWEET looking macnine. It was on display here in Louisville in August for the National Street Rod Convention. I love my Prowler, but like you said they would great together in our garage. Happy Prowling Marty ------------------ |

It was sitting on Woodward this year. It is one awesome looking car. The spokesman there said that he doubted that it would ever be produced but there is a lot of interest. ------------------ |

I've also heard that it will not be produced. I say a show on Speedvision (I think) about 6 months ago that was about two cars the Buick and a Ford that they are calling the '49'. Anyway they got to test both of them and did a 15 min. clip on each. The Ford was just a cool. I don't if they have any plans to make it but it would also look pretty nice sitting next to the Kitty. Here are the only pictures I have of it. It's powered by a Thunderbird 3.9-liter, DOHC, V-8, 32-valve engine. I think the Ford forty nine would be a practical everyday car if it was not a lmited production. ------------------ |

I read in AutoWeek that Ford does plan to produce the FORTYNINE. Depending on if they keep the glass top and some other features from the concept car they estimate the car will be in $30K to $39K range - possibly a coupe in the same price range as new T-Bird. Marty ------------------ |

My wife doesn't know it yet, but this will replace her Caddy if they build it. As long as it has a good ride and comfortable seats that is. I don't intend on getting another Cadillac because I don't like the styling direction GM is going in on them. Plus they are pricing them out of my range . I also want to go back to a rear wheel driver. The Forty_Nine concept is on Lincoln Chassis so if that is carried over to the production version it should ride excellent. ------------------ |

I will check on both of these for you guys. I work for a Buick and Lincoln Dealer. Ive seen the Buick pics before but have not heard anything yet. Buick is a little slow in doing things though. We just this April recieved our first SUV. Seems they want to wait til the market is flooded before they want to do anything. As far as the Lincoln, Im impressed by the Mark IX. Now thats a car......I dont have a link but it can be seen on the Lincoln Web site. Don |

For whatever it's worth, I called the local GM/Buick/Cad dealer yesterday and asked him about the Blackhawk. He was very familiar with it, had been back to the factory receintly and had spoken to the GM management re. the Hawk. Seems that the fellow that ran D/C, Bob Lutz (sp) is now at GM and is reportedly pushing the Hawk for limited production, similar to what he did at D/C with the Prowler. Nothing is cast in concrete yet and it will be at least 2 years, but it is very possible that the Blackhawk will become GM's "Prowler". ------------------ |

The "blackhawk" is an incredible looking car. When I shipped the kat to Paxton for the s/c he is the one that picked it up.got a chance to get a close look. The Kat rode part of the way with great company. If it ever makes it to production it would be worth it!! ------------------ |
