I know there have been a number of posts on this site about a lack of satisfaction at the quality of service from some dealers performing warranty work on our Prowlers. Thankfully I get to report some positive results. I had taken my car to the dealer with a list of about a dozen mostly minor items to be serviced and scheduled to drop off my car the day we left for vacation so they could keep it for 12 days. When I never received a message during our entire trip, I began to think something must to wrong. Upon our return I found out that not only did they replace the two rear chrome wheels that were pitted, but also the fronts even though I had not seen any noticeable pitting. While they had the wheels off they did a complete brake and suspension inspection. The car had spent some time at the upholstery shop to have a spot repaired on the driver's seat where a button on the seat belt was wearing a hole in the leather. Not only did they repair this spot, but also a place where the previous owner had made a puncture mark on the seat cushion. They also repaired the softtop near the rear window. When I went to pick the car up, the service manager was wiping the interior down himself to be sure they did not leave any finger prints or dirt on the steering wheel or door handles. Just thought it might be nice for some visitors on the site to be able to read some positive comments about some service work. Happy Prowling Marty ------------------ |

Marty - thanks for that positive report! I would say the dealer who services my cat does a good job, BUT, the last time there they let the 16 year old lot boy drive my cat around back to the wrench tech who was going to work on it. I don't think I'd ever give the keys to my car to any 16 yr old school drop-out, and let him cruise around the back lot. They heard about it!!!

Hey AC - now that I have four brand new CLEAN wheels, it should be easier for Rebecca to to keep them that way and return my clothes to the dresser drawer only slightly soiled - your wonderful suggestion to her!! The only 16 year old that drives my car is my daughter who was really disappointed to find out that just as many people honk and wave when I am driving the Prowler as when she is. Regarding the chrome grill treatment - it may get bigger. I am considering removing the headlight assemblies and replacing with a continuation of the chrome grill down the sides and mounting chrome circular "hot rod" lights on front. I did a crude mock up on Photo shop (before my compute crashed) and am at least considering it. Take care Marty ------------------ |

Marty, in my humble opinion the Paxton lights are butt ugly. ------------------ |

AC/Ed - I don't remember seeing the Paxton car before with round lights, only the supercharged one with stock lights on a video clip. When I finally found an image I agree that this is NOT what I was thinking about. My idea is to mount lights with chrome casing much lower on the front end. I (think I) remember a Prowler concept on tour at Churchill Downs circa 1993 or 1994 with round lights. Then after looking at all the street rods that were here in town for NSRA convention in August, I just thought the round lights would look like the cars from the 1930's. I probably won't do anything for a while - just a thgought at this time. Marty ------------------ |

That's some excellent service Marty. That's what a 5-star should do to EARN that recognition. What was the name of the Dealer? ------------------ |

Andy - the dealer is Montgomery Chrysler. Their family has had multiple Chevrolet dealerships for over four decades and this one added Chrysler and Kia (go figure) in the last few years. The Chrysler Service Dept is separate from the others and I after some earlier apprehensions, I am very happy with their attention to detail. Marty ------------------ |

Rich - Thanks for the pic. Just when I believe I have come up with an original idea, I find out there are at least a dozen variations of the same thing. I think this particular car looks better than the Paxton car with round lights - maybe I like the color of this car better than the red Paxton, LOL. Ed - To be honest, I don't know if I like the round lights any BETTER than then the stock ones, but I think the look is in line with the street rod scene that the Prowler was molded from.
