I know this has probably been posted before but, don't have the time to search for it.

I plan to buy a car lift for our new home in about 3-4 weeks.

Who makes them, what do they cost, and how do I reach them?

Will they install it? Or is it pretty simple to put together?

Thanks,
Trey

Hey Trey, I got mine this summer. So far so good. I put it together myself, but would suggest having at least 1 other man to help, some pieces are HEAVY. Intall was pretty simple other than the weight. Mine is a Backyard Buddy ( www.backyardbuddy.com ).

Email me if you want any details or we can talk on the phone.

I noticed that Cytech is one of our sponsors for this board or at least prominently advertises here. I also think that Mike has a bunch of them in his garages and has used them for quite a while. Maybe he can give a product review for us. Didn't we work a bulk purchase with these folks a while back?

I am a Cytech customer and soon to be a repeat buyer for our new home. Darren is exceptional to work with, the product is rated better than all the rest, their pricing is very fair for the quality received and the customer service they provide (delivery/set-up, and assistance) is second to none. I would not buy anything else for my cars.

Ceiling height is 9'8" and have a '93 vette over a '99 prowler. Standard 7 x 16 garage door was fitted with a "false" panel up top in order to reutilize my residential garage door opener, and rails were re-run to get the track up to 12" from ceiling to bottom of horizontal track.

Works out GREAT ...

Hope that helps ya'll

I too have a cytech double park. I really like it.

I have in area that height does not matter but they will work for most cars in 9.5 feet. 10 foot would be better.

If you are going to ever put full size truck on it I would recommend 14'long.

I also got the longer viper approach ramps. They come in aluminum. I got steel but wish I had the aluminum ramps.

I've had mine 3 years and the price has increased since I got mine.

It would be better if you had 2 or 3 friends if you plan on putting together yourself.

Give them a call...you will not be disappointed

Thanks guys. Pics look great. Will check both of them out. I've also had the pleasure of seeing Mike's garage in person to see what they look like.

Thanks again. (hope to have another prowler in about a month or so)

My ceiling is 9' 3" and fits Prowler and Viper just right.

I did nothing with the garage door because I park all of the way into the front of the garage so there is enough room for the door to open normally as you can see in the picture.

Here is a tip for you when looking for a lift. I got a Hemmings Motor News and looked through their ads. There's a lot of lift companies advertising their product. I had everyone of them send me a catalog. I studied them and picked the lift that would meet my needs. I chose Autolifters. When I built my garage I had the ceiling put at 11 ft because I knew I would eventually get a lift. I have been very happy with my lift.
Like I said look over all the different model lifts and pick the one that will fit your needs. And don't be in a rush.
