When I was backing car into My Uncles Garage, I caught the Mud flaps with the front tires! Actually pulled the fenders backward 2" !!! Looks like I bent the fender brackets. Any one else do this? and how much for 2 new Brackets? |

Yours is a known problem to Daimler Chrysler and should be warranted. Brackets and fenders are delivered as a unit that I think runs about $720. plus paint each. I had the same problem and DC was very responsive. Since then I used a Larry Lord idea, and a good one, to run a vertical band saw slit in the flap from the bold hole to the top of the flap..if they get snagged again the flap will pull away from the fasteners and save the fender and bracket. ------------------ |

I was at a show two weeks ago and a guy with a Red Prowler did the same thing in a pot hole two days after he put on the flaps. DC is repacing his fender under warranty. Fender and braces come as a single unit. I am not sure I understand why. I trimmed mine an inch and have never had a problem. They still seem to protect my Kat fine. ------------------ |

Mike and Larry's idea is a great one. I'll be doing that to mine. I always try to be aware of where my tires and flaps are going and pick the correct direction to go over bumps and holes. Not to pinch flap backing over a bump or catch it going forward down a curb. ------------------ |

Dear Fellow Fender Bracket Benders: I'm afraid I may have just commited the same crime. Carefully backing up through an intersection, I noticed a little bump or pothole. No biggie I reckoned. Stepping out of my parked Prowler, I sadly discovered that my front right fender was now 2.5" inches lower than before. Yes, the steel fender brackets were bent by the pull of the the trapped mud flap....as the rubber tire presumably strained to navigate it's way through said pothole. OUCH! is right. Ouch! I would love to get insight from those of you who handled this as a warranty matter via Daimler Chrylser. |

Good luck Juanpatino! I've lost my adhesive mudflap bracket also. The 5-star D/C dealership says---pretty much ...tough. I've gone past my 3-yr 36 mo. bumper to bumper. I told em I have an extended warrantee. The D/C Chumps say tough...that'll be $700.00 plus change due to the fact the adhesive bracket comes installed on the fender from the factory. This is not an item that you can buy and install or have installed. This is B.S.!!! Looking for help also!! |
