Well, we had FANTASTIC time at the 6th Annual Cruisin the Coast. Over 4,000 registered cars at the Worlds largest Block party. Four days of nonstop live music & cruisin over the 25 miles of MS. Gulf Coast... Don't know total number of Prowlers & PTS that were there (either registered or just cruisin). But, there were a lot. I was able to count 21 Prowlers (17 of which I met the owners), six PT owners & two Street Rods & one Neon that cruised on & off with us. This was the largest gathering of Prowlers on the Gulf coast. My Vette buddies said they never have seen so many Prowlers before...

To check out the pics go to Prowleronline.com & click on Events Scrapbook & than select Cruisin the Coast or try clicking on this link....

In addition, Streetrodding.com has 350 pics from Cruisin the Coast with a few of our Prowlers. Here's the link... These load real fast using MS IE.

This was the best Cruisin the Coast event to date. It may be the best event we've ever attended. It's was nice to hang around & meet some really nice people. We just had a terrific time.... Karen & I really enjoyed meeting & spending time with all the friends we have met (some for the first time). The time really flew bye & we had some late nights.... We had a blast.... We need to get ready for next year.... Thanks for the good times - Jesse, Sally & Jason, Bobby & Stephanie, Ken & Carol, Al & Darlene, Jerry & Rachel, Billy & Nancy, Chuck & Bobby, Gwen, Vinnie & Courtney, Jay & Nancy, Pete & Kim, Ken & Vickie, Ronnie & Sharon, Billy, Ronnie & Dale, Ray & Gail, Dave & Janet.

So many beautiful cars, Street Rods, Hot Rods & Classic cars. The weather was almost perfect. We had rain Friday night & into Saturday morning. Delayed the Drag strip opening for two hours before we got to run. We had seven Prowlers & Three PTs in the opening parade on Wednesday night. The hit of the parade was Jerry's radio controlled PT Cruiser (Jerry drove it just ahead of his PT over the parade route). The kids went wild & so did some of the adults when they saw this lil PT painted with same graphics to match Jerry's PT. The parade & Kickoff party with Vince Vance & cars were parked around the stage & for blocks down the street. Biggest I've ever seen here...

On Thursday & Friday we cruised up & down the 25 miles between Biloxi & Bay St. Louis to all the cruise sites & listed to the live music, stopped at the casinos & did our Poker runs. We also made stops at the Coliseum for the swap meet & vendor area. In addition to the cruisin we took in the Johnny Rivers concert on Friday night & the Lil Richard concert on Saturday night. Others saw Chubby Checker, Al "Lil Fats' Jackson, gary Lewis & the Playboys, Gary Puckett, Bill haley & comets or Clarence Carter & other entertainers. We were spread out among 12 casino hotels & such... Wow, the five days are like a blur....

Here's some of the Prowler & PT owners I met or saw their cars.

????, ???? - Orange Prowler (saw cruisin)
????, ???? - Black Prowler (saw Cruisin)

On Saturday, we had a good day at the drags. We had a two hour rain delay before the track was dried & time trials started. Temps were mid 70s with high humidity (the humidity dropped as the day went on). We left around 3:00 just before the Eliminations & Bracket Racing began. I was able to make three runs & my best was a 13.3 & 103.2 mph (best mph so far & my 2nd best ET). The only C5 vette that raced had a best of 13.9. So, this lil V6 is still beating these C5s... The Speedway had it's regular classes for drag racing & two bracket racing classes for the Cruisin the Coast & Nostalgia class. The fastest time I saw was 6.91 ET. Jerry & Chuck each raced their PTs in the Nostalgia class (I think I'll nickname them the "Bracket Brothers"). Jerry had a best time of 18.3 & Chuck had a best of 18.4. The highlight of the race day was them participating in the Bracket racing (Nostalgia class). They both eliminated other cars in the first rounds & both lost in the semifinals. Rachel (Jerry's wife) told me their heads were so big after the their first wins, they couldn't get their helmets off.... The fans were going wild & in disbelief when the PTs won. Congrats to Chuck & Jerry...

Check out the cruisin the coast web site. And, hopefully they'll allow all first time Prowlers & PTs to register again.... You're grandfathered, if you were registered this year... I'm already registered for next year (#493 & 494). My only regret is not meeting all the Prowler & PT owners... See you Cruisin....

Here's another link a friend sent me that has tons of pictures from Cruisin the Coast.

The 1st pic is my Prowler from Sunday. The neat thing it changes colors as you're viewing the pic... Pretty neat...

From the 1st screen click on View more Pictues & it takes you to a menu where you can select from 30 different grouping of pics...
