The 119 Prowler sales consisted of 27 Plymouth & 92 Chrysler. This is the lowest sales month since Feb 1998 (which had 84 units sold). Prowler sales were down 30% from Sep 2000. In line with overall Chrysler sales being down 28% year to year. Viper Sep 2001 sales were 103 & PT Cruisers sales were 10,420. Also, this is the first time since Feb 1998 that Viper sales were higher than Prowler... ------------------ |

Laddie, Can you tell us what "total" Viper sales are? I'm curious if more Kats have been built or not. ------------------ |

Thanks for keeping us posted, Laddie. I would say sales are way down for everything. It will be interesting to see if DC follows everyone else with the zero down and zero financing and includes Prowlers in it, if they do offer it at all. |

I got a dealer that is offering to sell me a new 2002 PT Cruiser for about $500-$1000 under invoice with an interest rate a little above 0%. He told me he needs to sell them. Ironically he couldn't give me true 0% financing. But with the price of the vehicle and they low rate they are giving me, if I make additional principle payments, I will make out far ahead of 0% financing, since what I am finding is that the dealers are not marking the cars down that much for the 0% financing. We just bought my girlfriend a new Mustang yesterday for $500 over invoice and 0% financing. It saved her about $70-$80 a month. Additionally, I had one dealer try to tell me that the PT is going to be a collectors item just like my Prowler (!?!?!). My fiance and I just looked at each other and laughed and I then brought to his attention that they have made just over 10,000 Prowlers so far, while they make 10,000 PTs a month. He also tried to tell me that I needed to buy the Limited Edition because people will look at the car and will consider it the "cheap" version if it is not the Limited. This dealer also has a Mullholland sitting in his showroom for $58,000 (!?!?!). Gave me and my fiance another big laugh. • MTD Prowler Intake System 2.1 With EGR Bypass Kit Future Mods: This message has been edited by William Gallagher on 10-03-2001 at 10:47 AM |

My guess is, when the new Viper comes out next year, their sales will practically double. It being a true convertible. That's one of the reasons I didn't get one. Insurance was another HUGE factor. ------------------ |
