Well - after months of trying to decide to flame or not to flame; then seeing all the cool flames at Woodward plus those in images on prowleronline.com - we are having purple faded to blue flames with bright red outline hand painted on sides and trunk. Design starts around side marker and ends with flame tips near door handles - Just one narrow 6 to 8 inch top to bottom line of flames.

I can't figure out why I am so nervous about this, especially after all the other modifications I have made.

Can't wait to get it back Tuesday evening.

Happy Prowling

Marty

Marty, flames sound unique and cool, be anxious to see them. Guess that means we both have to make the next trip! Be sure to post some before and after pics! Nervous, heck yes, kind of like having a newborn baby tatooed! You want to get it right the first time!

Mike - definitely!! on the making future trips. We always look forward to getting together with other POA people. We are buying a digital camera in next couple of weeks, so will post some images at least by then.

Paul - Those flames do look awesome, but at $600 a pint for that kind of paint, I opted for something a little more traditional. (read that as cheaper!) It is nice to see that a lot of Prowler owners try to make their cars look unique.

Larry - Bob's son Danny is doing tonight at home.
SHHHH!!! not being done in their shop. Have seen their work for years and like what they do quality wise.

BTW - Rebecca and I are still hoping to make it to Indy one of the next couple of Friday nights.

Rich - my design is somewhat like yours, at least it is not a full flame job on sides and none on hood or fenders. Speaking of KEWL as you yopu did in your reply, the DMV is checking to see it that is available for my licence plate. It was in use but person did not renew it last month, so I will check back. That is the only spelling of cool even remotely a possibility.

Marty- I believe he used the PPG paint at $275.00 a pint, but OH YEA it's too expensive for what it is. This Kat at shows always takes BEst Paint. The neatest thing is to see it under flourescent lights...looks like the front is on fire! Good luck and I want to see pics ASAP!

Good Luck Marty,
I just finished mine last night. I am perfectly happy with the color but am reconsidering the design of the flame. I used the Chromeillusion Color called "BlueGrape". It looks really good on my black Kat. It goes from blue to purple and can hardly be seen except in the right light.Im going to post the pics as soon as I get done with the 4 stage polishing system from 3M. I have also added purple neon to the engine compartment to show through the oval in the TGF side panels which is where the flames start at. Cant wait to see yours though......

Al - I REALLY liked your ghost flames. I thought that was what I was going to do but after conversations with several people, they convinced me that ghost flames look best as tone on tone of a bright color like your yellow and that although they would be OK as gray tones on black, it would not be as sharp as yours or others with ghost flames.

I get car back tonite - paint is done but needs to be buffed. I will post photos soon.

WOW !! What was I worried about? Danny didn't finish the red outline around the flames until about 10:00 PM last night and I can't wash or wax it for at least 48 hours, but it looks SO good now. I just made new chrome 4 1/2" cat logos outline in red and put them out the sidemarker that I had painted with black NiteShade spray. Once I clean it up and get some pictures, I will post - probably Friday. Now it is not just another black Prowler it is MY Prowler.

As if the car did not get enough attention on its own, now the blue faded to purple flames are really turning heads - especially the ones on the trunk!!

Ed - I am finished with THINKING of ideas of mods I want to do. I only have 15 tp 18 more things on my list!!

Actually, I had already committed to the flames and was waiting to decide what I wanted to do with them. The only other pending mod is the door panels. My embroidery guy has the material and is going to do my 14" PROWLER letters for the inserts -in time for Oct 9th cruise-in I hope.
