In about 9-10 months I will be in the market for a NEW Prowler. I have 11 months left on my Vette lease so I need to wait. I have been tossing around ordering one now to be here around that time. The best pre-order discount I've been offered so far was $2k off sticker. Now I have seen several left over 01's going for closer to $4k off. Should I wait and see what happens the next 10 months.... or order now??
I'm pretty sure I only want a silver one too, so I won't be as flexible if I wait. Thanks for your interest!

At first my thoughts were that you should wait because of possible changes coming. Second thoughts it looks like you are bargain shopping. If DC does do something special on the last run I can easily see the dealers inflating over sticker again not to metion DC will likely inflate both the MSRP and the price to dealers.I just had a similar experience. I have been wanting to buy another pair of shoes like a pair I already have and really like. I kept waiting for the price to get lower. This weekend I went to buy them anyway on sale or not. They don't make that style anymore and everyone is sold out. Now is a good time to buy. Prices may go up or you may not be able to get silver.
Interest rates are low and DC is offering dealers incenives on Prowler sales. Maybe they will drop farther who knows. Waiting is a gamble. Old saying "a bird in hand is worth two in a bush". It's still a tough decision. Glad I'm hooked on my purple.

Frank,
Although prices of the Prowler are soft now, I'd be concerned that once the final run is announced people may rush out to get one before they are gone, then the price will escalate. I did exactly that a year and a half ago when there were strong rumors that the Cat was dead. I got out of my SLK lease earty (to the additinal cost of $2k) and then grabbed a silver 2000 (with a dealer mark up of $2500). If performance is terrible important to you, you may want to wait as DC MAY enhance the car. However, depending on the additional cost, you could probably do better in the aftermarket. I really don't see the Prowler as a performance car (I have an NSX for that), though it does performe, from my perspective, surprisingly well in its stock iteration. Were it me, I'd grab that large discount. In the end, I can't imagine you'd be able to do much better and probably you'd be kicking yourself for not taking the sure thing. Either way, it really is a fun car.
