OK, OK. I first saw you guys at Woodward last year, then hung around this foresaken site for a year and saw 50-some of you at Woodward this year (OK so I lurked at Woodward, I'm Prowler-less). So now I gotta figure out how to get into a Prowler. I drive a 2000 SLK, leased it because it was the only way I could get into one. What are my chances of getting out of this lease (any one tried swap a lease?) and being able to get into a Prowler lease, possibly with a trailor... I know a couple of you lease your Prowlers, any input would be appreciated. I like the purple, black, midnight blue, and the candy apple red sounds nice if they really make it, but I guess I might be forced to get whatever is offered new, right? Can you lease a slightly used Prowler? Thanks guys and gals. Mike (who KNEW he shouldn't hang out with you guys) |

It would be great if someone else here in Kentucky was active in POA. We got our CAT in May and have only seen one other Prowler on street since then plus one at a show in Bardstown. If I see a used one soon at a local dealer I will let you know. Sam Swope and Oxmoor Toyota/Ford have had a couple on their lots this summer. Both do a lot of leasing and before I bought our Black 2000 on ebay I talked about leasing to keep payments down. Marty ------------------ |

]Hi Marty, I've seen one purple in Lexington, don't know who owns it. Is Sam Swope in Louisville? Thanks for keeping an eye out for me. There is a purple on Ebay now that says they're selling at wholesale, but I don't think I could get out of my current lease in time to even ponder it. Not to mention that I must be nuts to be considering trying to get a Prowler in September in Kentucky! Mike |

Hey Mike - Sam Swope is largest car dealer locally. I guess a lot of people think I am nuts - my car is daily driver. I have put 10000 miles on it Derby Week. I still don't have anything else to drive this winter but we only had two snowfalls of more than 2 inches last year and my cousin owns the self car wash one black from my office and has offered free tokens. The way I look at it is most folks talk about how much fun they have when they drive their CATs on weekends or whenever. I get to have that fun everyday one way to and from work!! If I can pull this off I'll be in touch for help on one of those $9 chrome grills! Mine would be a daily driver too, my girlfriend will have to help me haul guitars around (that's why a trailor might be nice), but I'm sure she wouldn't mind swapping cars for a Prowler. She sure doesn't mind driving my SLK! Mike |

I terminated the lease on my SLK early to get into a Prowler. It cost me $2000 to do so. What is necessary is to pay all of your monthly payments and usually a small termination fee. The value of the car comes into play which is subtracted from what you owe. While it was expensive, I am much happier with the Prowler (though I do miss that automatic roof). I made the move prematurely because I thougt the Prowler was going to be discontinued (this was back in 2000). Had I known, I would have played out the lease, saved the two grand and then saved another $2500 over payment on the Prowler. Now you can lease one for list or under if you listen to the wonderful guys/gals on this web site. Good luck, it really is a fun motor car. |

A few dealers have offered some good deals like $2500 down and they will hold the car 4 or 5 months and take some payments and interest in house. Especially in these northern states with winter coming I have been offered in dealer financing for 6 months by several. It wont get you in the car but it will hold one at a low price while you get your other finances together. |

How about swapalease.com? $50 and they find someone to assume your current lease. For me it has to be someone in KY. That's up to the leasing company, in my case Fifth Third. Yeah it looks like maybe a good time to try to get a Prowler. I also dabble in high end guitars and their prices are falling right now too. Good time to buy but a bad time if you want to unload a couple to pad a Prowler down payment! Thanks guys. Mike |

Mike.......awwwww.....you should have introduced yourself at Woodward. I received this email the other day if you are looking for a used car to buy: Mark Carey in Troy, MI wants to sell his low mileage black cat. If anybody is looking for a used cat, call him at 248-362-3910 ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat of course! |

Mike - I saw the photos you took at Woodward. Rebacca & I arer in one taken at the restaurant parking lot looking at a white Viper. I think I was in a white t shirt & Becca wearing pink. BTW - Living in Lexington should I assume you are a Cat fan - as in UK? I pull for them except twice a year - yep, a Louisville fan!! Marty ------------------ |
