The weather was bad almost all day Thursday. Weather was perfect on Friday and all day Sat until about 9 PM when all H--- broke loose. It rained again Sunday about 11 AM. All in all the weather was okay. The hotel was extremely nice and was only about 10 minutes from both the restaurant and from the museum where the Black Tee party was held. It was only a few blocks from Woodward, itself, but not the epicenter of the action on Woodward. The CAAP plant was probably 45 minutes away, although we did not attend that function. The best part of the whole wing ding was the Prowler people. |

Seeing my Prowlin' Buddies from the midwest again. Some of the bestest friends a person could ask for. I miss them already, and its only been 2 days. Learned a few things about improving my driving habits with the Kat - fish tailing turns & spining those huge tires off the line (w/ a little assistance). I think its time to experiment w/ new ways to please the crowds. I'm tired of hearing the heckling from the looser's in the crowd on the side of the street. Might as well give 'em a (better) show next year. Thursday weather was questionable, but it reminded me of last years Thursday monsoon. Friday & Saturday was nothing less than perfect. Saturday night was interesting. And then there was the drive home on Sunday, going East through the previous evenings weather (again). We can't forget the trip to Hell down pee gravel lane. Hotel & restaurant - I wouldn't change a thing. Well maybe requesting a bottle of Irish Mist at the Hotel bar would have been the only improvement. A nightcap after putting Kitty to bed would have been nice. Life goes on. ------------------ This message has been edited by SPCL-T on 08-21-2001 at 05:19 AM |

This year the hotel and its location were much better. The best part for us was just hangin and crusin with other Prowler owners. I laughed until I thought my sides would split. My Kat took a beating this year, but if I had it to do again I would in a heartbeat. ------------------ |

One of the funniest moments for me was while watching the cruise from the side of Woodward Ave... at a new green light several hot rods began the burn out ritual much to the delight of the crowd. One after another the cars squealed and smoked. Not to be out done, a homely looking Chevy Astro van (soccer mom) locked up the brakes and commenced to smoke the back tires. The crowd roared approval! Mike |

JD, that was a typo. I meant Epcot Center from Disney World. I can't spell spellcheck. |

Weather was off and on Scott, although the bad made the good better..hotel, just like living at home, in fact we are close enough that we did stay at home. Black tee better than last year, and last year was great! Group photo, Prowlers and PT's awesome...cruisin as a group spectacular...only real miscalculation...I brought a spare gas can and didn't use it! ------------------ |

Hotel - A plus Weather - B Meeting old and new Prowler owners, was my favorite part but seeing nearly 30,000 classics and hot rods brought back many memories from the good 'ole days - A plus 10 Restaurant was located adjacent to Woodward and food was good - A Would have ranked it higher, but Ed sold all the real silverware curbside, and we had to use platicware Only three negative things to report: It was worth the 5,000 plus miles driven to attend! Viva la Woodward Dream Cruise!!! ------------------ |
