KATILAC Prowler Newbie From:windsor,ontario,canada |

Just read an article that dcx is going to build the chysler crossfire and that likely it will replace the kat. In the article it states that the prowler never caught on. go figure. A production crossfire will be shown at the north american auto show in january. It also states in the article that the car will go into production sooner than you think! Could the 2002 kats be the last? |

Didn't catch on... you mean a car is supposed to sell like wildfire without any advertising and with dealer gouging? I guess I am in another dimension - I would have never guessed. ------------------ |

Agree with you Cliff! Although I like the rarity of the Kat. While we are all guessing here (conjecture)...I figure from what has been posted over the past few months: 2003 is the last year of the Kat. They will produce a candy-apple red (late 2002 for 2003 year) Crossfire will replace the Kat as the D-C two seat sports car (Viper is still the performance car) What does everyone else think??? My crystal ball is still a bit fuzzy. |

They stated at CAAP, during the Woodward visit, that July of 2003 was it for the Prowler. I was still out on the production floor during the beginning of the Tech-Session, so I didn't hear all of what was stated. Maybe CJ or Bob could elaborate - if they are allowed to by DC. ------------------ |

Chysler did officially announce that they will produce the Crossfire on the weekend. I do not have details on where or when it will be produced ------------------ |

The cross fire will actually be built on a mercedes SLK platform. At the press conference Chysler said that they will have more details at one fo the auto shows in January. They are also going to build a viper competition coupe to replace the GTS-R. it may have around 520 HP. 2000 silver |
