I have a 2000 Black Cat that is going back (lemon law) in the next week or so. I am considering getting a new one. Before I do I'd like to find out if anyone has heard anything about the 2002 model. Basically woundering what colors and if any other changes will be made. Thanks! BocaProwler |

Boca, welcome! What was the nature of your problems with your 2k? As far as I know, the color hasn't been officially released. ------------------ |

I have had major water leaks (from the top) since I've had the car. I have 3 leaks from both windows and 2 from the front under the visors. It's been in service 6 times for this. Three time (55days) since May 23 of this year. I gave them (2 different dealers) every opportunity to fix it, they can't. Seems the middle weatherstrip (on the windows) are designed wrong and that the one that goes into the pillar at the front do not align properly. What makes it worse is that my top seems to be very narrow compared to other ones I've seen, so the water keeps coming in. I have to give Chrysler credit (so far) because they have agreed to give me a full refund for my car (minus usage as per the lemon law here in FL). I want a new one, but don't want to get one now and then regret not waiting for a 2002. Any idea on when it will be out? BocaProwler |

The only color I have heard of for 2k2 is the Inca Gold. I haven't heard of any other changes! ------------------ |

Boca, I'm surprised that they took the car back on the lemon law because of the top leaking. A far as I know, all the tops leak and this would set precedent to any unsatisfied Prowler owner wanting to return their cat for any other reason using this excuse. Just curious, do you do much driving in the rain? Yes, as you said, DC did you right on this one. ------------------ |

Al, it will also matter on what state you are in for the lemon law, some are tougher than others. Also if you haven't found a dealer for your purchase of the new one I would highly recommend (do you guys know anyone), oh yeah me ------------------ |

In Florida if your car has been in service for more than 30 days (for one or more defects) and you have notified the manufacturer of the defect, the manufacturer must refund your money for the car minus a usage fee (selling price divided by 120,000 times the miles on the car). My car has been in the shop for 70+ days so far, most because of the leaking. Remember mine leaks from the front as well as the sides. It spent 14 days in May-June, 14 more June-July and another 17 July-August. They can't get rid of the leaks. Now my headlights get fogged up when they get wet, and today I notice that the chrome is peeling off one of my rear tires (it never ends). I try not to take it out in the rain, but here in SE FL it can be sunny one minute, stormy the next. I'm also not married, so when I go out on a date, I like to take the cat (naturally), but it is embarrassing to do so when it's raining, because my date gets all wet (from the leaks :-) BocaProwler |

I hear you about the sudden rains-luckily for me, not something we have here in the NE. As you may have read, the peeling rim chrome is nothing new. So far, I've been lucky-wonder if DC has a handle on it now. I saw one a couple of weeks ago the had been replaced and is shot again. ------------------ This message has been edited by butchcee on 08-17-2001 at 06:16 AM |
