I was thinking of getting one. Also, how difficult is the installation? Thanks.

Bought one and it sits on a shelf in my garage 99% of the time, only put it on for show.

First off some say mount it reverse to instructions, some say add extra padding under ends. Also found the tint to dark to see through, had cracks develop at food pads etc.

My thought is save your money.

I'd also like to hear more about the Air Patrol and the Weekender. Do any of you use and like these accessories?

I have the weekender and think it is GREAT! You will need to install the hitch because it sits on a frame that goes into the receiver. It also has a receiver on the frame so yo can still pull a trailer if you want to.

Also, it will tilt back so you can open the deck lid without removing it.

It is big enough to fit 2-4 duffle bags (depending on size).

I think it is well worth the money.

You can see mine here

But, if you use that, no one will see Your Bat Cliff emblem and Commisioner Cliff will have a hard time sending out his Bat Cliff signal!

I have a couple of comments. Richard (eyedoc) has the weekender but cannot even put the Prowler cover plate on due to a ridge inside the receiver. He therefore could not pull a trailer. His may be the only one like that, but you had better check before you decide to tow a trailer and find out too late that it won't fit. He has been having a hard time getting it resolved. I saw it in person and could feel the extra ridge.
DKLA12 if you are only 14 where are you getting money to buy an Air Patrol? You must have a great part-time job to have that much disposable income so spend on your dad's car.

Don't bother with the Air Patrol. It does nothing to stop the wind and it will be hard to see out of because of the tint.

DKLA...I have the air patrol and use it all the time as I like the looks. As others have stated, it really doesn't help that much on keeping the air out........but I do think it is GREAT at keeping hot air inside when it is cool out along the coast and I have the top down and the heater on!
Keep your money and buy me breakfast one day!

Ed- My dad wants to get one because my mom doesn't like the wind blowing in her face. He is going to pay for it if we chose to get one. Please stop criticising me everytime i post a topic. Much appreciation to those who responded to this topic. - Danny

I can't belive that age discrimination takes place on our board. I agree, that in many instances they do seem to question your posts.

At 114, and the self-proclaimed oldest Prowler owner, I am surprised by the lack of articles that pertain to my problems. Everyone seems concerned about weekenders, trailers, flames and high speed modifications.

I am in need of solid transportation to pickup my prescriptions, social security checks and chicks! My Prowler does offer a solution to most of my needs.

I am currently looking at installing a lift system to help me gain access as bending has become more difficult after my strenuous workouts at the Home Depot.

Danny, don't let these guys get you down. I bought my first car at a young age. I have been enjoying driving for almost 100 years and I can tell you that some of these "whipper-snappers" need to learn the value of respect for their youngins.

Keep Prowlin and rememeber that most of these folks are good solid people that are just joshing you a bit. In a couple of years maybe you can offer some of them a job!

Scot you miss the point COMPLETELY! Now being a 114 years old, I would expect you to be able to understand these things by now!

These topics do pertain to you and you should read them all. Just put on those huge magnifying glasses and enjoy! For example:

The Air Patrol Topic: Would be good to keep your toupee in place - we all know that NOBODY can keep a full head of hair driving a convertible for almost 100 years.

The Weekender Topic: You need something to get ALL of your prescriptions AND your Depends AND your Ensure home - not all of this will fit on the floor between the hot babes legs as you are driving home!

The Flames Topic: C'mon now - you know you need the flames to get the babes - how else will they know you are HOT and not just ANOTHER 114 year old guy driving around in a convertible?

The Trailers Topic: Scot - when you take off on your trips in search of a new hot babe - where you going to keep all your extra stuff (Depends, Ensure, Toupees, Teeth, Glasses, you know - old people stuff)? You need a trailer man - as you get older - you have lots more stuff to lug around!

High Speed Modifications: You have to have the speed if you want to do the burn-outs to attract the hot babes. Heck - they may not be looking your way - they may be looking at Todd driving by in his van... you know - competition!

I don't know why I am giving advice to a 114 year old! You have lived over 2 of my lives - you should know all this by now! Grow up will ya!

DKLA12, I wasn't criticizing you. I was questioning how a 14 year old can drive on the boulevard, hit the garage wall and be able to afford all these extras. I think you are truly a remarkable young man to be able to do all of that. You say it is your car on some posts and your dad's car on others. That is the confusing part. On this thread you stated "I am thinking about getting one, and not my dad is thinking about getting one". Sorry if you took it as criticism. I did not mean it as criticism.

Cliff,

I am deeply concerned. Aside from being the self-proclaimed oldest Prowler owner I thought that I have posted a few items that would be considered for the Hall of Shame" as they were unusual at best.

It would appear, based on your latest post that you are formidable competition for the funniest posts. I welcome the challenge.

I thought that it might be wise to respond to at least a couple of your items:

While I know that it is unusual, I do still maintain a full head of hair. I was originally the "test target" for Rogain and I look like Wolfman Jack. I could double for a leading man in dirty pictures! I have to get a hair cut every six days in order to maintain my gentlemanly good looks.

As to the storage area, you are correct that a weekender would serve a useful purpose but I already have an assistant following me everywhere I go so that I don't forget where I am going. At my age, anything further than the mortuary or the graveyard is a considerable adventure.

On speed, you may remember that I invented, patented and sell the only plastic gears for the Prowler! I am certainly cognizant of the effects of speed on the chicks, but at my age I am more concerned about speed to the bathroom!

I am extremely attractive standing on my wallet and most members of the fairer sex find me quite the catch. I gotta run as it is time for my constitutional.

Just received my Air Patrol. IMHO it looks great. The fit and finish is top notch. It did cut the wind down a little. Im not saying it was a dramatic change but it raised the comfort zone maybe 10 mph. I'm still waiting on the Weekender. Woodward seems to have alot of people not tending to bussiness!!LOL
