Why does the media rag on the Prowler, but rave about the new Ford T-bird? R&T Magazine (Aug 2001) - "In the wake of such success as the VW Beetle & PT Cruiser, Ford has resurrected the Thunderbird" No mention about the Prowler as the Originator of the Retro crazy today! Motor Trend TV - Says the "Prowler only has style going for it". "NO trunk space, V6, and poor perfomance"

When are we gonna get some respect from the Media? ------------------ |

Brian, Those other cars you mentioned are "mass-produced" vehicles. So, everyone has seen them and can identify with them. Being that we own the "elusive prowler" is (magical), and I guess many in the media, just don't see it. I too was bothered that the media never really gave us the proper exposure, but I like having the "mystery" exotic, that many don't understand. The car that no one (public) really knows or sees often. I like the illusion that the prowler creates. I say, let the prowler lurk in the shadows. It makes the car more interesting. |

Here is a review from this weekend's newspaper. I think the reviewer "gets it" http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/072001/whe_6731309.shtml ------------------ |

A1A. That was very positive article & actually had some informative information... The Prowler was the lead story in automotive section of last Friday's New Orleans' Times Picayune. It's not online, but, the article was very good & positive. Our local writer had the same reaction from folks for the week she was driving the Orange Prowler around. Our article didn't have as much of the technical detail as the Jacksonville paper. That Orange Prowler must be making it's rounds to the Southern cities.. I wonder where the next stop is for this Kat... That's another question. How does that Kat get assigned, allocated & shipped to each Newspaper writer for a week of free test driving??? ------------------ |

That is usually what he does. I talk to him about once a week so I will ask him the next time we talk. He is originally from Johnstown and he used to cruise with us. ------------------ |

You can not compare the Prowler to the new Thunderbird. The Thunderbird is in a whole different class. What has been written by the magazines about Prowlers is all basically true. The Prowler is underpowered, don't stop, don't handle well, no trunk space, beat you to death on long trips, hard to get in and out of, and the wind will curl your hair. The Prowler is a very unique car. Everybody would love to own one if they could inspite of how the car performs. This is why there is a Performance Aftermarket. It is our business to build the custom parts that will make more horsepower, brake systems to stop faster and suspesion parts for handling plus all the other add on parts. The same thing is going to happen to the Thunderbird. Right now it is news worthy because it new. The next group articls on the car will be with aftermarket parts. The Thunderbird is underpowerd and they are all ready talking supercharging. Do worry what the magazines write about the Prowler it will not change how unique the car really is. Road & Track did a article on our car two years ago and the article was very possitive about the Paxton Prowler. At Paxton we have over 14 of our own supercharged vehicles. (Mustangs, Cougar, Neon, Hondas, SUV's, Light trucks, and big trucks) The car that get the most attention and runs the best is our Prowler. The Prowler is faster that our 1999 and 2001 Cobra Mustangs. ------------------ |

I have been selling Vipers since 92' and Prowlers since 97'. Thank God I chose these two specialty cars to make my living on! There are no other cars in recent histoty that have kept the demand for them for such a long period of time. Prowlers just recently have not commanded over sticker. Even the PT Cruisers are slowing down after only 1 1/2 years. I think if DC quit building them now the demand would be back within 12 months. What's everyone else think? Happy Prowlin'!!!!

Laddie: I spoke with Greg Rager today. He has put 500 miles on the Orange Prowler and yes he will be doing an article on it. He didn't say when it would be published. His comment to me was that he liked the car once you get past its idiosyncracies. He didn't elaborate beyond that. ------------------ |

Laddie: I spoke to Greg today. The Orange Prowler has left and is off to its next writer on the list. Greg said that 99% of what he will write will be positive and the negatives that he will talk about are out weighed by positives along the same lines. He drove the Cat 600 miles while he had it and he did seem to like it. ------------------ |
