For those of you that have the Mopar/Borla system. When will this dam thing quit spitting out what appears to be insulation? It keeps covering the back of my car and its getting really anoying. Especially after you just wash it. ------------------ |

Bob - Bob Longsteth had an explanation about that happening, but I don't recall what he said now. CJ, put Bob on........ |

I have had my Mopars for about a month which is about 100 miles and they still do it. It gives my Mully kind of a sparkle look. |

Shhhhhhhhhhh.....Bob is sawing Z's right at the moment, but I will have him post a reply in the a.m. We had the Mopar exhausts installed about two weeks before I left for the Deadwood tour. Yes, it certainly was spewing the ahhhhh, whatever that stuff is. Sort of made it look like I had a sparkle paint job! We were very careful with respect to cleaning it off the car. I drove the cat pretty hard during the two week vacation. Gave it a good washing when I got home and drove it during this past week. I have not noticed any more stuff coming from the exhausts. Will check again and let you know. How long have you had the exhausts on the cat. How hard have you driven it? |

I probably drove 300 miles or so before it went away. I believe I still saw some stragglers after that. ------------------ |

I have the non Mopar version Borla, it did the same thing. The worst went away in about 300 to 500 miles. It even got on my wife and myself while driving with the top down. There was some minor appearences about a month or so longer. All will eventually go away. It was a real pain but after all is done I am stillgald I installed the Borla. I thought it was carbon fibers from the tips. But I guess it was someting else since the Mopar doesn't use the carbon fiber tips. ------------------ |

I have the Mopar muffler without the tips (thanks Chris!). Anyway, it must be the muffler itself because I had these particles for about a month, then they disappeared. ------------------ |

That is so weird...I was wondering what in the heck was sparkling all over my car, even after a brand new wash..I thought is was some mysterious dust particles from my garage.. Now I really feel dumb!! I had the Borla exhaust installed before i reached 80 miles, back in Feb. The stuff disappeared after 1000 miles or so..! ------------------ |

Careful, all, if you're talking about mufflers, could the "sparkle" stuff be asbestos? Do they still use that in mufflers? It is a mineral so it might just catch a glint of light. Am I on the right track here or totally paranoid? If I'm right watch out how you handle it. Once it's airborne, there's the threat. ------------------ |

I hav3e had my Mopar exhaust on for about a month now and have driven almost 2000 miles with it and it still is spewing a little dust. Its not as bad as when i first put it on but its almost all gone now. Guess you guys are gonna have to put some miles on your kats if you want to get rid of it. ------------------ Amsoil Engine and Tranny Fluid |

Looks like we all share the same experience with the Borla. It's no big deal, just drive it enough and you can enjoy the sound without the sparkle dust. For us it didn't last very long, maybe because Donny has a tendency to do full bore at every opportunity--blew it out quicker. ------------------ |
