I was looking at an old Popular Mechanics from around 1996 and came across the following image: It appears to be a test vehicle. What I found interesting was that it was painted red. This was before the 1997 purple was even released. ------------------ |

Yes that is the Prangler and in the trade they refer to it as a mule. In the other pictures that I have seen it was green. I understand there was more than one. I understand the Jeep Wrangler was used because of the rear axle placement being so similar to the proposed Prowler. ------------------ |

Hey now C..........no joke, they made like 5 of them to test the drivetrain for the prowler before it went into production. I think 1 was crash tested and who know's what happened to the others????? One ugly ride I think.......... ------------------ |
