CJ weren't we supposed to receive an invitation based on a list you submitted to DC. Should we wait on the invitations or should we just go ahead and send money as David posted. ------------------ |

Thank You. My only concern is that we are getting really close to the event and mail from Atlanta to anywhere sucks. Last year my Tickets arrived at my home after I had already left for Woodward. CJ helped and saved me last year. I don't want to be in the same position this year. ------------------ |

Here is the update: must pre-register before 7-21 to get a discount if you own a Prowler or A PT.Need the last 8 digits of your vin. cost is $10 per person ONLY IF you live with in 350 miles of Detroit and you only get two tickets at this price.additional tickets are $35 and if you live outside of the 350 miles radius and before 7-21 and after 7-21 the cost is $45 each. number to call is 800-422-7596..... Well, I just called the 800# & spoke with Lisa (who conferred with Kelly). They said if you're out of state, we're not invited to Black Tee.... Now Lisa was very nice... Now, I haven't received an invitation although I submitted my name... There seems to be some confusion with the agency handling this for DC.. Since Lisa said out of staters weren't suppose to get invitaions. I said I know someone in Dallas who received invitation & I must have missed the news announcement tht Dallas was now in the state of Michigan. They said they would call me back tomorrow... I'll await call tomorrow. This is suppose to be charity event & not sure why you turn down people willing to donate money.... Maybe someone will get enlightened & get the process & information straight. They're very nice people to deal with so I'll be patient & see what happens... maybe CJ has an update... ------------------ |

Well, this is why I was handling it through my contact, same as I did last year. If you call 6 different people at an ad agency, you will get 6 different answers. David, I wish you had contacted me instead and I would have handled it for you......and everyone else. A little patience goes a long way..... Yes, I submitted the list. CJ you have never let us down in the past. I prefer that you continue to handle. I was only nervous because the postal service in Georgia is so bad and time is getting short. I have had stuff take more than a week to reach Michigan and the same on the return. ------------------ |

cj, 1.I got my invitation (thanks) 2.Looked for an address to pay for tickets none listed just a 800# 3.Called to get an payment address 4.Listed the address for everyone to save time and share info. 5.The invitation is made out to my legal name which i never use and only used on legal papers(title of my cars etc) so i must assume that I must have been on a different list.. 6.The rest is history and downhill and btw never mind. 7.Not going to go to the stupid party and instead Erika and I will cruise woodward ave.on Friday... ------------------ davidn This message has been edited by davidn on 07-10-2001 at 05:55 PM |

OK CJ, So what is the deal? Do we need to be concerned about this deadline of the 21st or not. Since that is 11 days away and I have not received my invitation yet(live in Ohio) would just like to know. Thanks in advance.

Paul, if you have never been involved in putting on an event, especially one of the proportions of Dream Cruise, it is quite a challenge. Ask any of the members such as Larry Lord, PaulR, DavidN, Roger Freeman, etc. etc. just how much work it can be. Even after all the years I have been doing these things for a living, it still is complicated, detail-oriented and very time consuming. I am not advising everyone to be patient, I am merely asking for patience and understanding. On a corporate level, it can be frustrating waiting for responses and information and there is a lot of follow-up to achieve that cooperation. We will make sure that all information is complete and accurate in time for the event. Get yourselves here and we will take care of you from there!!!!! |
