Great place for DeLorean parts: http://www.usadmc.com/english/english.asp

This was my "had to have" car as a kid growing up. I loved these and took tons of photos (even of the window sticker) but, alas they were only in business for 2 years and at the time, $26K seemed like a hell of a lot of money. Who knew!

enjoy.

I would be happy to post some pictures of the Delorean. Mine is serial number 6452 so it is close to the 6,000 unit built ( they started at 500).

The car has 11,350 miles on it and it is like new in all aspects. It is basically stock, except for the normal mods that were recommended by the Delorean Owners Association. Most of the mods are electrical and make up for deficiencies in the original design.

The car is fun to drive but it is not particularly fast. It has a six cylinder engine that only produces about 130hp. The five speed is very efficient and it does give you feeling of reasonable speed. The handling is not great but not bad given that it is a 20 year old design.

All in all, like a Prowler, it is fun to drive and turns heads wherever you drive it. On the performance side, I am not a fan of Corvettes, although my wife owns two. I enjoy the Allante as it is a luxury sports car with 295 hp and it does move right along. It is definitely fun to drive although no one gets particularly excited about seeing one.

I'll put some pictures up on the board of the Delorean as soon as I take some with my digital camera.

Trey, that WAS a lot of money then. I could of bought a real Cobra with 5000 real miles on it back in 81 for only $50,000 too. Not to mention what Microsoft stock was worth!
