I ran a 13.2 against this yellow Z06's 13.0 in our head to head racing. The Z06 had drag radials. I had him beat to the 1/8 mile mark... It was one fantastic day. I even ran my Dodge Diesel & got a 17.5 ET in it... I did beat all the other C5s or C4s. Most C5 vettes were in the low 14s (13.9 to 14.4)... The two Z06s ran consistently in the 13.0 range. It was a typical Louisiana day about 95 degrees... The five South Louisiana Corvette clubs rented the State Capital Raceway near Baton Rouge on Sunday. We had 75 cars. 60 cars raced & 50 of those were Vettes & the other 10 were assorted other cars & trucks. I had the only Prowler... We had 125 people with picnic lunches & one fantastic time... We had many runs with passengers. It was a blast.... This was the first time on drag strip for most of these folks... I think we may have a few more Prowler sales after yesterday... These guys & gals couldn't believe our lil old V6 was running this cool... The coolest car on the road was beating these vettes.... I really need to thank all my vette buddies for letting me come out to play.... Here's a pic of me & the yellow Z06 & the time slip....

Laddie; You must be proud; Did anyone serve crawfish pie or any other South Louisiana delicacies? Are yo going to have any other modifications in your Kat? |

Larry, I'm only running the basic Paxton (8lbs) setup & Prowler Pro gears. The only other things I'm interested in are the Paxton intercooler & exhaust possibly... I'm very pleased with my current setup... We didn't do crawfish... We had hamburgers... ------------------ This message has been edited by Laddie Roussel on 06-25-2001 at 09:11 AM |

Thanks, all. FM. Gary. The humidity was mild for Louisiana. Probalby 75 to 80% range... It really was a pleasant day for our summers... And, the track was slippery. It was similiar to Texas last August... My tires were doing some squealing leaving the start... Chris. It was all in good fun... Really one super group of guys & gals. ------------------ |

Way to go Laddie. Now you need a vanity plate that says Vette Killer. I saw a Vette the other day with a plate that said Snake Killer. I don't think so. ------------------ |

Laddie I raced a Z06 Corvette in Sacramento last weekend. After I put two car lengths on him he gave up and followed me into the gas station. He asked if I have a V8. I said no I was drinking Coors Light. ------------------ |

Hey Nyle. That beat my 1.49 in one of my runs in the Ram Diesel... I'm sitting at the line with the AC on (cooling down) & I remembered you suppose to turn the air off... so, I'm trying to find the AC control while the lights start going down.... It was a blast... ------------------ |

Laddie, Time to update your banner to 13.2! As far as other mods, maybe you could get some headers and an exhaust; on a cooler day; that may put you in the 12's. ------------------ |
