I seem to have developed a "bird chirping" noise, squeak over slight bumps, which my wife says sounds like it is coming from in back of the seat or in trunk area. Just curious to see if someone has had and fixed something similar before I start tearing everything out... Thanks for any assistance.

I have had the chirp from two different sources. It depends if your top is up or down.

If my top is down, I have had the chirp by not securing the top down with the straps. If you secure it tightly in the trunk you should get rid of the chirp.

If my top is up, I have had the chirp from the top attachments in the trunk not being seated well. Try pushing the top's back part down first. Then attach the top to the windshield.

I hope this helps.

Thanks but I've been there already, even lubed the posts with silicone but this doesn't matter where the top is. It is a high pitched squeak and over the slightest bumps too. At first I thought it was the top not sealed across the windshield and that was causing a high pitched whistle from the wind. Today we both heard it plainly. I have to pull my Nitrous bottle for the Autocross tomorrow so I'll eliminate that one also.. Driving me nuts and I only have 66 miles before out of warranty... Thanks for your info.

Funny I just noticed the chirp you described this weekend going over some speed bumps.

I have this noise too when the top is up and my top is attached securely. I haven't been able to pin point it yet so I didn't make a post on it. I haven't lubed the posts et but my thinking is that one of the posts have loosened up or something.

I had a noise like that also when the top was up, had to get the trunk adjusted a bit for other reason and the noise seems to have gone, but haven't gone to far since it was done though

I had this problem on one of my past Prowlers. Here's how I solved it. Unlatch the back of the top...Open the back cover...spray silicone spray on the right and left side where the prongs go in as well as the center latch...Worked for me and lasts about two months before I had to do it again.

Thanks for all your input. We noticed yesterday that I don't get it over normal bumps, like potholes, but it comes in over the small bumps or ripples in the road and more so as we're stopping at a light or such... The strange thing is that it doesn't have any pattern you can trace it's just random. I've lubed everything that I can see connected to the top and trunk.. It is almost as if it is coming from the rear suspension somewhere..
